What sources do I trust?

You can't trust any sources; just the same as newspapers they all have their own political agenda or opinions on what to tell and how to tell it and with what "spin"; so read/listen to several different sources and you might get closer to the truth.

When I lived in the UK, the BBC used to be regarded as a trustworthy news source, but that crown has slipped over the years and they tend to give a sanitised version of reality so as not to offend those poor delicate viewers.

I read via news.google.com, which aggregates stories from all over the world. You can use settings there to filter out the stuff that you just can't care about (for me, it's sports) and also increase the content you DO care about (for me, science and local news.)

You can't trust any one news source, but you can compare how the same story is treated by different news outlets to determine their bias.
