Yes this is the old testament mostly. So he means Judaism, which was actually born out of Canaanite polytheism.
However I agree, in that Jesus as far as you can say this is one person what subverting the status quo. It subverted Roman rule, the local ruler and most of all the Old Testament.
Messiah was the obvious medium for social change, "Jesus" was not the first, it wasn't even the only resurrection story.
