Taking Time.
Now that the US has begun Daylight Savings Time, I feel my days are too short and there's never enough time to get done what needs doing. Whenever I look at the clock I tell myself it's really, truly an hour behind. I wish I could actually set them an hour behind but that wouldn't work because everything else would be an hour ahead and it would end up in confusion.
Time is actually one of the most valuable, precious commodities and when someone takes an hour out of the day every year for x amount of days, think of all the precious hours you lose. Hours that could be spent getting stuff done, being productive.
Government's excuse is it saves energy but there are other ways to save it. Why do people allow such callous disregard of their time? Why can't they consider what time really, truly means. We lose an hour each day. So, when the clock says it's 2:00 pm it's truly only 1:00 and that goes for every day of Daylight Savings. You truly lose all those hours every year and you get no choice, they are just taken from you, Precious, important hours.
And I know we don't actually lose that hour but then again, we do, since people will not be showing up an hour early for work, starting school an hour early, waking up an hour early, all the things we do, to make up for the time change so yes it seems like the hour is truly gone if you keep to you normal schedule. Your normal schedule ends up being shorter if you stick to the same routine.
Okay...so maybe people actually adjust their schedules without even knowing it when they set their clocks ahead. It's just aggravating when it feels like the day goes by too fast. So if you are used to getting up at seven suddenly you are up at six. I feel it's a weird mind game or something. Must confuse the masses.
