Gloom and doom bible apocalypse lol
My Mom and Nanny are OMG! Gloom doom! Due to the way the world is today. Based on the U.S. here since that's where we live.
OMG! mixed races
OMG! marriage is man/woman NOT man/man woman/woman
OMG! The bible says we'll all look a like and won't tell the difference of each other!
OMG! *insert bad extreme weather*
GLOOM DOOM! End is near. etc.
Uh?
I pray that family is healthy and safe otherwise that's about it.
IMO OMG! weather is cool yes it'll get worse but it comes and goes. worst heat since 98 in FL ok so worst heat in 17 YEARS! OMG! hurricane season 05 so uh 10 years ago as of August not sure if 2015 will be a repeat or not maybe or maybe not. World News OMG! Snow storms BAD EXTREME WEATHER! etc.
Uh. I'm nearly 30 I want to enjoy life and not be dictated by believing in gloom doom end of the world bible and never have lived.
I also agree with the believing idea of religion more so though. What if instead of God millions of years ago it was a man called Superman. Some story or old book is written about Superman and it gets found and stories are written etc. etc. we'd be praying to Superman. So is the Bible etc. just a work of fiction some fake stories like todays comics or *insert character* Was God that era's comic book character.
Just wanted to rant. Thanks WP. No offense to LGBT community I LOVED Korra got with Assumi in Legend of Korra just wanted religious views on my families views thanks.
Florida is proof of The End Times!
God is very real and looking in your window right now!
According to the Bible, the End Times are the good part.
At least if you are in the 144,000 who are worthy of entering Heaven.
They might have already left.
Hurricanes were made up by the Weather Chanel to get more views, and higher ad income.
If such a thing existed the Government would pass laws preventing it, and have FEMA defend the beaches.
This is the modern era, you should not believe old stories about the God Hurricane, it is just some red skin myth.
Avoid TV, walk more, drink water. Live as much as you can while maintaining good sense.

The bible is one of the most individualized books ever written - everyone has their own theology, their own eschatology, and their own Jesus because hardly any two people read the same book exactly the same. I suppose when almost no one agrees with you on what the bible means your odds of being one of the 144,000 compared to everyone else's look pretty good!
Revelations and books like Daniel, Zachariah, Joel, Amos, etc. is where it gets really bad. Anyone whose reading Joel and Amos at the imminent edge of the sacking and destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians and believes that it's about some future apocalypse that's going to happen because we're marrying gays now really needs help. I think what bothers them there is something they can't get rid of in Daniel - stars falling from the sky and the sun turning blood red connected to things that have already happened in history; meaning the super-massive literal shakeup of heavens and earth that they want to end the challenges of their lives simply isn't coming.
As a panentheistic monist these days I have a very different idea of things. First I'd insist that all is of God, there's no enemy powerful enough to be of any significance, it couldn't be separate from God anyway and God would be smiling at it as if to say "Oh yeah? You're still my personal hand puppet and I love you just as much as everything else that I pretend to be". The bible chronologies a God that doesn't change dealing with peoples incrementally which means we are not just allowed to change but encouraged. My best guess - autism, increased gay rights, revivals of reexamination of high pagan philosophy, all of this is God moving, God evolving things. In other words I don't see an end times coming to deliver a cloistered group and send the rest to hell while burning a perfectly good planet to recreate it differently all to delete the perversions created by a being that can be literally nothing other than God's hand puppet to begin with.
As far as I can tell there's two ways you could interpret the book of revelations:
1) The period from Augustus Caesar through Domitian, the 66 AD sacking of Jerusalem, and then the period up until the millenial reign when Constantine made Christianity the law of the land (and the beginning of the 1,000 year rule of the Catholic church).
2) One could view the seven churches and their overcomers through the lenses of Theosophy or Anthroposophy - either seven root races or the seven subraces of this root (fifth root race). The bible talks about this world fading away and dying and being replaced by a new one - that isn't likely to be done over perversions based on a creator deity who created it and declared it good but it might be ended when it's deemed obsolete as a classroom, at that point we leave class 101, start 201 on a different playing field.
Any which way the more you look at Tribulation Now and the flying 70th week of Daniel as an imminent end times prophecy it makes increasingly less sense and eventually you even have to admit - the old testament is Astrotheology and the new testament is a neoplatonizing of that same star-religion. The world is full of star, zodiac, and planet deities - the Jews to their credit saw it all as one and the more educated pagans at least agreed that all their gods and goddesses were various personalities of what was one God or at the first level of differentiation a God and a Goddess which together were one androgyn God who would still be called a 'He' in the Latin language sense.
