I'm curious, as I know there are many in various Muslim nations' parliaments, but I don't know how powerful Islamism is as an ideology... I'm Muslim.

There is quite a bit of difference between "moderate" Islamists and fundamentalist, Erdogan in Turkey right now can be described as a moderate Islamist. They are probably the most powerful single bloc in Middle East politics for sure in almost any of the countries. There are insurrections in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, and elsewhere yet even too. In Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood won the presidency and were writing an Islamist constitution before the military intervened and overthrew the government, the Sisi government banned the Muslim Brotherhood and has instituted a severe crackdown against its members and assets.
