It would be hard to weigh an opinion on that. Retrospect always has the advantage view. The horrid man put on a great campaign and had a good team pushing this "innocence" and the mother was complicit.

If it had been true case of oops in the original incident and Ellie went on to be a Rocket scientist, everyone would praise her for returning the child to a nuclear family.

Atty will hide evidence *suppression of full disclosure* that may be crucial. Too many variables to lay it on her head alone. If his atty can be held liable then yes she should be also.
