this is the upshot of repeal and delay [delay until 2020? just repeal in reality, as the GOP has no real replacement plan that will actually help the working class] - when they kill the subsidies, they will also kill the individual health insurance market by the death spiral of a thousand cuts, when 1] the sicker have long been priced out of coverage, and 2]fewer and fewer of the richer and healthier will still be able to afford increasingly unaffordable private individual health insurance plans. the insurance companies are IMHO not likely to make up the resultant losses from a cratered individual health insurance market, by convincing employers to pick up more of the tab. doubling down on a dimishing employer-sponsored insurance market is a dead end. how long before the health insurance companies start putting real heat on the GOP?
