It is utterly laughable that the mainstream/corporate media that lies to us on an endless basis and is purely a mouthpiece for the government and our 'allies' has been droning on about fake news. This has occurred because 'fake news' aka inconvenient truths the media kept forgetting to mention, cost their golden girl the US election.

Because of fake news, a lunatic with a gun tried shooting up Ping Pong Pizza in Washington DC because of that idiot story about the Clintons, John Podesta, and Lady GaGa (of all people) were involved in a pedophile sex ring in the Pizza shop's basement. The place doesn't have a basement, and I can't seriously imagine someone as wonderfully eccentric as Lady GaGa being involved in something like that.
This fake news is being generated by flat earthers and moon landing deniers like Alex Jones, and read by people who aren't mislead into believing such horse sh*t, but who want it to be true.

It's just the latest frame for "things that I disagree with", it's already stale.

I think it's much more than that. The idea that Hillary Clinton and Lady GAGa are involved in occult pedophile sex rings is more than just a story I disagree with; it's a story outside the realm of reality. The whole birther bullsh*t was entirely false. To say that the indefensible claims that the President wasn't born in America is just a matter of disagreement is an understatement. False news is fiction meant to mislead and demean at the very least while being passed of as fact.

Like I said in the other thread, live in a world where all the sources of information are controlled by your political enemies for decades, then you get to judge how gullible other people are when they believe people telling them what they want to hear. You defend the mainstream media because it tells you that you're right, not because you actually know any better, that I'm sure of.

Also, aren't you into Kennedy Assassination conspiracies?

No, I defend the mainstream media because they have actual facts to back up what they say, whereas fake news spins the most salacious stories without a bit of evidence, or misconstrued evidence.
And I'll be the first to admit that the notion of a conspiracy in the JFK assassination has been rejected by most mainstream media (though some do consider it a possibility). I'll also concede that most assassination theories are contradictory and only serve to muddy the water. But a few of them... a few of them... might be onto something. But at least, the investigation conducted by the New Orleans' District Attorney's office, and then that by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, had dealt with real evidence, far different from the crap Breitbart spews out.

Except when they don't. Do you know how many times I've seen a reporter for one of your mainstream media outlets say something about guns alone that is completely false, as in not just my opinion but guns don't work that way false? Given that I'm not an expert in every subject, but of the ones that I am, I regularly catch mistakes that range from innocent to ridiculous, why should I trust that they get the other stuff right?

How do you know? Have you ever even read Breitbart? Or are you just going on the infallible word of those people who just happen to agree with you on everything, but that you defend for reasons that have nothing to do with that?

Breitbart is another thing I'm going to do my own personal Snopes style investigation into, along with Bannon.

The MSM has shown itself to be fake news and not to be trusted, Wikileaks showed us how they tried to rig the election with Hillary Clinton so really nothing they say should be believed unless shown with some proof. CNN seriously tried to say that looking at Wikileaks was illegal.

I keep hearing the phrase "liberal media," so am assuming that those who doubt the mainstream media believe it to be as biased and "fake" itself.

I don't think the fact that they get facts wrong sometimes is reason to dismantle the whole system. I think it's a question of motive. Mainstream media is, I believe, trying to be fair. Whereas the "fake news" of the title is with agenda.

Now they are not and they have admitted as much, they threw out all the rules of journalism to oppose Trump. The MSM is owned by huge multinational corporations many of which have defense contracts, they have lied to us repeatedly and were exposed as corrupt frauds by Wikileaks. 'Fake news' is indeed the MSM and should not be trusted.

That happened because some people are complete morons and crazy. Stories like 'Pizzagate" do seem to have some truth in them, if you look at the leaked emails, the Podesta's seem to be using code words for children etc. The trouble is, these stories get adopted by crooked maniacs like Alex Jones and blown into a joke to discredit the story. Happens a lot with that scumbag.

Just because Podesta has a weird interest in food with blood and semen in it? Hardly enough to legitimize Pizzagate.

So they coercing the public into entering numerous wars that have killed millions with outright lies and propaganda was just them trying to be "fair"? And they didn't have an agenda? I suggest you watch the video.

If you say so about guns. But does that mean the media is wrong on climate change, the alt right, the teaching of evolution, etc? You may know guns, but I know the earth isn't six thousand years old, and that something weird is happening to the climate.
Yes, I've pursued it, and more, I've looked at the alt right sites that Breitbart publishes the articles of, and trust me, I want to shower afterwards.

Maybe not. I haven't looked into it enough but it seemed that they were talking about more than blood and semen.

You realise Jones did his trick of discrediting a credible theory regarding JFK too? Like saying Oswald was one of the shooters.
