Doesn't agnostic mean you're not sure? Are atheists sure?

Atheist: "I believe God doesn't exist"
Agnostic: "God may exist, but he may not."

I was agnostic most my life but came to the conclusion that their was no God/supernatural.

I've heard the expression before that agnostics are merely lazy atheist because if you study the subject you come to atheism.

Deciding that there is no supernatural gives me more closure. :?

I don't feel I need to explain life as long as I can enjoy it. I try to steer clear from religion and science.

got any proof?

just because all judeo-christian-muslim religions are wrong doesn't mean there's no god. there's no way of knowing. the best you can do is say that these ones are wrong.

think of it like a scientific experiement...you can't prove that there's no god...but you can prove that these certain religions are wrong because their ideas and theories are being proven wrong. so as such, they should be either refined or thrown out.

I agree with this, if their stupid ideas are not thrown out, at least they should redefine a lot of absurdities they still believe in.

this is why i said religion isn't completely worthless....but it needs a reformation and a move towards modern times and away from the traditionalist bigotry and sexism.

Because Agnostics are neutral and unsure of whether they think there is a God or not. Atheists do not believe in a God, some are even opposed to religion altogether. I am a Strong Atheist, and so stand as opposed to religion.

Being agnostic means that you think that the question of whether god/gods exit is not knowable. Meaning that NO ONE No matter how religious or athiestic someone is they will not know until they die?

What is the point of spending my living time trying to answer questions that I know will be answered when I die?

ypheus got it right
agnosticism is the consequent reaction to acknowledging that any such entity is so completely out of reach that no sure statement concerning its existence can be made.
if the existence of a deity is a question, both atheism and being religious or spiritual in any which way is an answer to the question. agnosticism is shrugging.
in face of the fact that the matter of the question is unknowable, shrugging is the most wise option.

so, its not that agnosticism leads to atheism, actually its the other way round. once you notice what you can know and what you could never ever know, being atheistic is just as much a religious stance as any pro-deity stance.
