Let’s imagine *all* WP population moved together to an empty city. Do you think this city can be functional?
Honestly I see a lack of doctors and lawyers among the WP population.

What's your point?

I have read/heard about very successful ASD doctors and lawyers making 1 million+ dollars per year.

Know any?

Boo's point might be that if you extrapolate from the population of WP to that of a whole putative "aspie nation" (this notion some keep plugging that we should have an all autistic nation)that such a country wouldn't work because it would lack folks with certain aptitudes for certain jobs. But that's probably also true of other social websites. If you took the population of a website for those passionate about collecting "Barbie Dolls, and beanie babies" you would probably find some aptitudes and occupations over represented, and others under represented.

l personally know a few doctors and one judge who are on the spectrum. They are also too busy to hang out in internet forums.

I know one lawyer who has Aspergers or so she claims. She hosted the supports groups in her law office I used to attend. But no, I would not want to live in this hypothetical city.

Damn it, they better make time and get over here, or this proposed city is likely to be chocked full of dying folks and criminals!

Civil war would erupt within days if not hours.

We're more like "NT's" than many Aspies believe.

We argue, have petty jealousies, power trips, etc....we are not the "next step in evolution."

A nation of Aspie/autistics would probably end up like any other nation.

A big fight would be over who is autistic.

There is a local surgeon that people say, "he's hated, but because he's so brilliant, the hospital works with him".

They know of his AS, and apparently, that's what's being blamed for why people hate him.

They hired a person just to do communications for him.


This lawyer was a patent law partner at a law firm. In the original article it said he was making over a million per year.

He was expecting a $150,000 bonus on top of his 1 million+ salary.

However, another partner didn't like his AS "ticks".

Well, people don't have to live in a city to work there, nor do they necessarily work where they live. So I'm sure we could get such needs
met even if we lacked ASD work force for it.

We can't know how anything would work until we try.


So a city huh? Where in the world should this city be? Are we talking mandatory residency for all members? How many members would be willing to move there and leave whatever loved ones they have behind?


Honestly, it could have been an interesting experiment to have willing aspies try this, and if it was just for a short while, it might even be interesting to partake. Maybe.



it couldn't be any worse than the travesty that is the (rest of the) world.

The streets would definitely be pretty quite, short of UPS and Fedex, and I think Amazon could just about build a depot in lieu of a mall.
