"A shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership. He can't even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the president is weak." -- Donald Trump 2013

Yeah, Trump might have a little difficulty explaining this one. And it won't matter one bit to his loyal supporters.

Republicans control all three branches of government, yet it inexplicably shut down.

They have a jar of peanut butter, a loaf of bread, and a butterknife, yet can't make a goddamned sandwich.

When your supporters are that loyal, you can get away with anything.

They don’t habe the 60 vote majority to control the senate anymore.
The senate is controlled by neither party and can barely get anything done.

The technical term for that is "cult", I believe...

He's not going to explain it. He's going to hope no one notices.

Well, if the Internet has noticed, it's too late for that.

He still won't address it. You'll never have the satisfaction of seeing his flustered attempt to explain himself.

Recently, "View of Democrat Party lowest in 25 years".
http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/07/politics/ ... index.html

Now Schumer shuts down the US government because he wants amnesty for illegal aliens?

Republican news headlines: "Democrats put illegal aliens before American citizens".

What do Democrats say?

He can get people together in a room but the other two parts are true. It is not his tax cut but the congressional republican tax cut, you know the globalist, cuck, RINO’s.

Maybe not, but it does hurt his credibility whether he wants to acknowledge it or not.

In our eyes, yes. Will the majority of people become aware of this contradiction?

Maybe. The left and right tend to have their own news media so the people who become aware of it will mostly be people who didn't think he had any credibility to begin with and the people who still think he has credibility won't ever hear it. I don't think this will change anyone's mind on how much credibility Trump has.

True. I've never thought he had much credibility to begin with and I still think that, so I guess all this does is highlight his hypocrisy, but I already knew about that too. My opinion on Trump is unchanged. His approval rating isn't very high according to five thirty eight either so I don't really care what his supporters think.

There are quite a few of these embarrassing quotes lying around for Trump. He wrote hundreds of Tweets critical of Obama, and often didn't name him, just calling him "the President" or similar.

There's a particularly good one which is something along the lines of:

"If you read my last number of tweets, only one conclusion can be reached: that our President, and therefore "leader", is grossly incompetent!"
