Do you think that's his real hair or a wig?

Yes, I can just imagine it now...
Squillionaire walks into wig shop. "I want your best wig, money is no object, I can afford anything."
Tries a few on...
"Yes, that one, it's perfect, just what I was looking for!"

I think maybe it was a family heirloom?

Maybe he illegally killed a lion and had a wig maker make him a bleached wig out of the lion's mane?

I think it's mostly if not entirely his own hair, it's just hair either from the sides or the back that is grown out long and then combed over and piled on the bare parts on top and in front and stuck there with adhesive to make it (somewhat) resemble a full head of hair. Remember that scene in American Hustle, with Christian Bale's character gluing (and painting) his hair on? I think it's something like that--a "composite", if you will.

If it is his real hair I wonder if he bleaches it with peroxide?

I think it's real. I saw a video where someone, with Trump's permission, vigorously ruffled it. If it was a wig or extensions or something I think it would have come off.

Maybe he got a hair transplant off a golden retriever?

Yes. I vote for the implant theory. His hair looks like a thicker version of that fake 'combed over' look that bald guys get when they comb over their bald spots. If his bald spots had a few a hair plugs to reinforce the long combed over hairs from the back it would explain his pate's distinctive look.

But did it come from human hair, lion hair, or golden retriever hair?

Actually I think that that yellow thing on his head looks like a "Tribble"( as in "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode in Star Trek) because it is in fact a space alien creature that attached itself to his head sometime in the late Eighties. And since then its been commandeering Trump. And now, by way of Trump, it's commandeering the greatest nation on the planet! The whole human species is now doing the creature's bidding!

Nah, I imagine it grows in white (he is in his 70s after all) and he tints it to look blonde.
