All politicians lie every time they open their mouths. Except for when they open their mouths to vomit, which is slightly less foul and obnoxious.

However, he's good at persuasion, and manipulation.

All politicians lie, a few are joked about as "lying ever time they open their mouth", but Trump is the first president who literally cannot construct a sentence without telling a lie. Nixon, Bill Clinton, none of even Trumps most notorious predessors ever came close to lying as often in even a whole two term presidency as Trump does in one day.

Trump is clearly in a class by himself in that regard.

Oh, is that all? I figured he was dropping over 50 lies daily, so...I don't know where I was going with this as that's still quite terrible.

I wonder if that cynical man actually believes any of the rot that spews out his gob? I wonder if he actually believes in his "alternative facts"? I kinda doubt it, nobody that high could be that deluded.

I agree. To me, this is a huge part of his success: people naively thinking he'll change or can't really be so delusional. My generation seems to think they discovered evil and social justice due to experiencing Trump as president. He's a nightmare, but is he really worse than many Ancient Roman rulers?

Also, the job of politicians is to essentially tell a population they haven't met what that population needs. Obviously this is going to attract the worst of humanity. Politics is just an artificial competition set up to divide people.
