I can't believe what intruded upon my mind. In. A. f*****g. Swimming. Pool.

Hm, maybe I didn't think long enough that competition may be fundamentally fascist? Or, perhaps, that is not it... no, if I train alone, or even with a friend symbiotically, sort of thing, then I want to do that. If I want to go on a diet, I want to do it... doesn't fit any definition, no...

But, for f**k's sake on a pickle, why should children's swimming remind me of what I read about Hitler Youth? "Go!" He shouted in a very rhythmic way, as if a metronome is taking account... was it even 'go'? Not sure now, as the point is the militarism. Upon approach, after being presented with this analogy of an emulation, his only reason is... they're faster. Oh, like genocides in history become faster? Do we have metronomes on how quick a neighbour can kill their nearby occupant?

Swimming. Such a relaxing thing, is it not? It came... 'out of the blue' (how apt)... like, seriously, even in all the nonsense online I couldn't come head-to-head with such an analogy, such a process that falls so neatly into this definition.

No... it's not at all about having a timetable, or being moderate in what one eats e.g. (although moderation in politics is the antithesis of you know what)... by all means eat if you're at a party, but if someone is force-feeding you? f**k that fascist! Even not allowing suicide for the terminally ill... as long as there are safeguards it is f****d up if they're not allowed their wishes.

Point is... locus. Where the source of action comes from.

So... while this swimming coach is not at all some genocidal maniac, of course... he is contributing to the psychology of such a potential course, especially if these minds are still growing.

But hey, we all know how religions everywhere love exploiting young minds, eh?

f**k this s**t, I say. Either train to your own rhythm or don't, and at the very least, these people don't feel like puppets?

As someone who actually swam on a swim team, this seems a MASSIVE reach.

Unless you consider all sports fascist. The coach's job is to provide a practice that will help them improve. Having not been at the practice there are a number of reasons he could have been repeat yelling "Go!", In order of most likely to least likely.

1. There were multiple swimmers per lane and he was yelling go to indicate when each wave of swimmer should go such that there was space for each to swim.

2. He was encouraging his swimmers to swim harder.

3. They were doing a drill of some kind where-in the rhythm of him yelling "Go!," indicated when they were supposed to move to the next phase.

I guarantee any kid on a swim team "volunteered" (or was "volunteered" by their parents) to be there.

I wish Fascism and fascism would just disappear into the Wild Blue Yonder.

There is a sort of "regimentation" which occurs in groups like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or any sort of team.

But to compare them to the Hitler Youth, or to anything associated with Nazism, Fascism, etc., is just plum ridiculous.

We should keep a perspective on what is Nazi---and what is merely conservatism, libertarianism, things like that.
