Are climate change deniers really the problem?

Does acknowledging climate change really mean you do more about it? You could be a climate denier and reduce your carbon footprint because you still believe in pollution and want clean air and water. Or you could think climate change is serious but do the opposite of what you know you need to do because your attitude isn’t so great.

I have heard a lot about people getting mad when people don’t believe in climate change. Technically, beliefs don’t equal actions, though.

By the way, climate change is real.

The Deniers are not the problem. The greedy corporations that see nothing wrong with destroying the environment to enrich themselves are the problem. The people who own and run those corporations are the problem. The politicians who receive bribes and kickbacks from the corporations for passing laws that benefit those corporations are the problem. The Deniers are just a symptom -- lackeys of the people who run the System and do their bidding without asking 'why'.

The average person not having faith in climate change science probably does not have much if any impact.

The average person having no understanding of the science behind climate change probably doesn't help much either.

The average person back in the day believed if you could swim in water then you were a witch and deserved to be put to death.

So maybe 'the average person' is stupid and a danger to us all?

The "average person" is what keeps this species alive and well.

Too many "average people," though, have, historically, followed idiots.

Personally I think throughout history the megalomaniacs in charge have always taken full advantage of the poorly educated average person and exploited them for violence.

Fully half of the people in this country have below-average education and/or intelligence.

While that seems like an obvious statement, when you peel it back, the 'average' is much lower than you may expect.

That is an understatement.

I think a problem is that people are skeptical because they have been hearing about the world coming to an end one way or another their whole lives. And also hearing about scientists changing their minds all the time. On top of that some people going on about climate change sound like kooks to them.

The world WILL end someday, never doubt that. If nothing else millions of years from now the sun is going to swallow our planet whole and cook us alive.

Putting people down and insulting them is not going to win them over.

And the sooner Mr. Trump realizes that, the sooner this country can get back to leading the Free World.

Meanwhile anyone wanting to persuade others into believing in climate change science might want to consider it.
