And by turning his back on his (former) European allies, Trump has significantly increased the relative strength of China on the global level, as there is no longer a somewhat unified Western world to act as a counter-balance to Chinese influence.
The Germans for one, are taking a huge interest in what is happening in the area.
There is some talk about the Democrats strengthening alliances with countries in the pacific.
I hope, for Australia's sake, that that will happen.
Lets face it, China* has its eye on world domination.
