I thought this was an interesting article by the guy who normally sits opposite Dave Fuller in a lot of the Rebel Wisdom conversations. He's discussing the collide between net citizenry and what have commonly been thought of as the grounded institutions in the 'real' world albeit when you think about Wallstreet - that seems to be something more like different virtual bubbles colliding because it seems every bit as unhinged as the online world. Alex brings up the concept of 'breach' and discusses its similarities to unconscious breach of conscious space (breaking through layers of repression) and the WallStreetBets goings on, the LSD theatre of the Capitol raid, and the cultural/archetypal grenade that defined much of last summer over and above Covid. He also offers some advice for people at the end on how to try grounding this stuff if it leaves their heads spinning.

Wow. Jordan Peterson has made these guys sound like the new conservative bootleg version of Lacan.

I'm referring to the injection of Analytic psychology into cultural commentary, where the lefty academics from the 50s onward inserted psychoanalysis into everything.

The internet compares exceptionally poorly with Jung's collective unconscious. So poorly that I'm willing to say the author hasn't read much of Jung's work - but then, Jung wrote that any trained layman could practice Analytic psychology, so he brought that knto himself.

The collision of offline and online world he describes is also very poorly observed - there have been conspiracy theories, there have been suicide cults, there have been antisemitic atrocities - the holocaust happened completely before the era of russian facebook disinformation campaigns.

The woke police might be compared to maybe the McCarthy era red scare, or the Stasi in the GDR.

And the redditors taking on Wallstreet... So, a bunch of guys found a loophole in a financial system that's been out of control for decades. It doesn't shake anyone's belief in any authority, because.... How naive would you have to be in the first place?

It's also simply not correct that you can even make a distinction between the internet as this place of the purely imaginary and the physicsl world. Sure, the internet is new in that it is a global public sphere which we can access while sitting on the toilet.
But the very real stock market is in fact also completely imaginary.
The jnternet doesn't provide us with any collective and unconscious things any more than the physical world - it's just that as a public sphere, it has an expanse that means all sorts of madness can come from any direction, any time. As Peter Sloterdijk wrote: the national television channels created a community of outrage - meaning, a community that at least was united in the subject they were arguing about. The public sphere was controlled, in that way.

This guy clearly has a narrow focus - but there used to be red army factions and other terrorist groups placing bombs in most countries in the world in the seventies. The student uprisings of the late sixties can easily hold up to the riots today.
...
My favourite stock market crash is the one from 1822, when it turned out that the government bonds of the south american nation of Poyais were made up, just as the country, by a certain Gregor McGregor.
He even sold land there, and organized the trip for some poor Englishmen who were dropped off on some beach and left to fend for themselves.

History is full of weird stuff, all without a means to organize our "collective unconscious". It's just the case that Fukuyama was wrong, and the calm period after the end of the cold war is officially over, history has started again and weird things happen - now organized through a uniquely new means of communication that might speed things up a bit.

They're secular Buddhism guys who like to hold retreats and bring in Ken Wilbur and Stan Groff when they're looking for inspiration. Think they were like this before Peterson was a thing.

Typically Now, When A Person 'Really'
Becomes WHoLE THere Is No Need
to Tear Other Folks Down to Fill
An Empty Void Within; Typical

'Trump Meme', Indeed,

Today,

A Substantial Portion of

'Drunks' In 'A Bar' With Nothing

Better to Do than one Desperately Trying

To Rise Up From the Bottom of 'A Barstool'...

Indeed, There Are Other Places With No Limits
Where Folks Only Desire to Lift Other Folks Up...

Won't Find it in the so-Called 'Western World' Much,

"Either West or East,"

Yet In 'Other

Countries',

"Dream Time"

Indeed Still Comes

To Light A Flow of iMaGiNaTioN

Just Unlimiting Streams of More Open

Souls of Subconscious Human Potential

Bringing Wings of Creativity Unlimiting Birds

Learning to Fly

Only Grounding

In Cocoons

Before

Yet It's More Than

Words A Depth of Feeling

And Sensing Life So Many Colors More

Now Than Just Primaries or Shades of Grey

Or Black and White Concrete Thought; Nah,

Ya Don't Have to Study 'Jung' to Do Jung Now,

All Ya Have to Do is Become Whole and Join

Any Community That Is Whole Enough to Lift Each Other Up...

And Do 'You';

It'S A Difference

Between Living

in A Concrete One

Way Sidewalk And Butterflies

In A Meadow With Bees and Never Ending

New Colors of Flowers; Yet of Course this is all

Just Word

Salad

if Ya

Haven't Tasted

A Soul With Free Wings Yet...

Meh... Again, Autotelic Flow With Frission; Science
Measures IT Only Limited With Meditative Activities,

Yet It Is Within That Comes Exploring Beyond All Measure

With Different

Eyes and

Different

'Virtual Realities'

of UniVerses Within

To Give And Share More

With Other Human UniVerses Evolving More Now,

Nothing New Age About it; only Removing Oneself

From Too Many Distractions That Modern Cultures Bring; Actually More Like an Older Age

Versus Never Coming to Move Beyond The Surface Much at all to the Depths of Ocean Souls...

Yes, Enlightenment; Not a Pejorative; Just Looking, Seeking, Finding Within A Whole New World;

A Rather

Nice

Place

to Staycation True

And Continue to Evolve

Real Colors of Soul Across A Lifespan

Now Where Stagnation Is No Place to See....

Yeah, Yeah, the Transcending Experience oF Life

After Self-Actualization; Yet, All the Text in the World

Is Meaningless

Until one

Comes

To the Table

of Plenty And Actually Feasts...

Yes, Sort of Like A Song 'Xanadu'

And The Older Stories True; Sure, the
TL;DR Version That 'Rush' Creates/Produces too

As MuSiC Folks Express In Notes, A Similar Place They 'See'..

For Us to See With Ears As Well; Yet Only Those Initiating Well to Be...

Does 'The Experience'

Need A Label

To Exist,

Or Some Official

Study With A Piece of
Paper Degree, iN A Word,

In A Page,

No; In A

Book

Or

A Cover

Of Any Clothes At All

Nah...

Not What Ya Go to School
Or Work to Do; What Ya Soul
Does to Truly BREaTHE Freer... Now...

EXPReSSinG Less In 'External Letters'; Yet FLoWinG Poetry Within More; Yes

Souls, Those Ascending, Will Ever Understand More to Hear to See Transcending... Now

Oh Yeah and Without

A Free Dance

Harder

Than Ever to 'Go'...
And 'Come Again'... 'A SonG'...:)
