I find this with woman I know, who are quite liberal in their politics, and have a lot of liberal stances on issues, but they will often go for guys who are conversative much more. And then they complain about how it bothers them, yet they still keep going for these types of guys, in terms of politics.

Is it just a case of opposites attract perhaps, or is there more to it than that?

Yeah, I don't really get that either but seems like a thing that does happen. That said at the time I started dating my boyfriend I wanted someone more on the left of the political spectrum as that is where I am. Some people maybe make it work out when they have widely different views of the world...but I prefer being on the same page for those kinds of things. Like we're both leftists, we're both satanists we both aren't too fond of capitalism and like some more socialistic ideas. And we are on the same page about drug use we both smoke weed and drink, though he smokes/uses much less weed than me since too much makes him anxious, like lets just say on a dose of edibles where I was just fine he had to go lay under the weighted blanket to chill out cause it was too much for him. And well we'd like to take a shroom trip once a month since the afterglow(noticably better mental health) lasts 30 days so taking them once a month should make us pretty ok with life and all the crap it throws at us. And from time to time we indulge in harder drugs like we have gotten cocaine and done that but neither one of us want to get into a hard drug habit so that is a very once in a while sort of thing.

I guess for me it comes back to my parents always fighting over politics, religion and their disagreements about drinking and weed. It was horrible and annoying trying to get sleep with those two so often just loudly arguing late into the night, probably thinking us kids would be asleep. But nah I had many a night I couldn't sleep because I could hear them arguing and yelling at each other.

So obviously I don't want that for my relationship so I feel it's better if we are allies with the same cause and have simular life views and lifestyles. And even with that we still argue sometimes, but at least at the end of the day we're on the same page so we can work it out. Rather than my parents who like sometimes wouldn't even talk for days! Like worst argument's we've had it's within the half hour or hour that we make up. My parents would go days not talking to each other...it was very awkward for us kids(me and my siblings). Though me and my boyfriend aren't going to have any kids but still I don't want to go for days being so mad at my S.O I wont event talk to them, that would be miserable for both of us. I even feel bad if we end up getting mad at each other for an hour, and I won't just refuse to talk to him so I don't understand if my parents really loved each other how they could go days like that with neither one of them giving in till like a whole week. How could you just not talk to your S.O for days? I can't do that, even if it's a case I feel my boyfriend is in the wrong I wouldn't go just days refusing to communicate with him. When we have conflicts, we usually both just want to get past it rather than holding onto a grudge.

Are they?

The question keeping Trump-loving men up at night: Why won't women date us?
Young Democrats are right: There is no reason to date or befriend Trump voters
Most Democrats who are looking for a relationship would not consider dating a Trump voter

I'm not so sure they actually are interested in dating regressives/reactionaries. Some might have been but it seems like the more conservatives admit what they actually believe online the more the rest of us find associating with them unappealing.

I'm just going by people I know and my experiences. But I am in Canada, so maybe women are more attracted to conservative types as long as they do not have the Trump stigma attached to them, like non-Americans perhaps?

I'm also in Canada, I don't imagine every Tory is likely to struggle with dating but all I know is most of the chuds I've known here also whine about being chronically single and most of the women I've known don't seem interested in interacting with them.

I've known chuds who are in relationships but quite often the partner they describe as their 'liberal girlfriend' is just a normie centrist and only seems liberal from the perspective of her reactionary partner.

I am a centrist, and have no problem being friends or dating conservatives or liberals.

Just no far-right or far-left views.

I am mostly focused on whether they like animated sitcoms like I do.

Borrowed from a low-budget horror film, "C.H.U.D." where it stands for "Cannabalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers." A reference to a certain breed of far-right troll who are stereotyped as talking tough while still living in their parents' basement.

A woman, feeling bold, told her conservative boyfriend to "tie her up and f**k her however he wanted".

Naturally, this excited him greatly.

So he put a lien on her house, sued her, and raised her taxes.

@OP, it is far more likely that they are attracted to those guys DESPITE their conservative nature, not BECUASE of their conservative nature.

Also, there are differences between liberals and between conservatives.

A "liberal" could be anything from the Squad to Joe Manchin.

A "conservative" could be anything from Marjorie Taylor-Greene to Susan Collins.

Nice cherry picking there, but more than one attempt to approach it scientifically has found attractive people tend to be more conservative. In fact its been argued that "attractive people have an easier life and are blind to the struggles of others" - making them more conservative, that may be true.

Perhaps the answer is just that simple. Liberal women are women, and are attracted to attractive people, who are more likely to be conservative.
