I appreciate this video, very much.

It really does highlight and summarize the grave north/south divide in terms of the economy, which makes a lot of the north pretty much a wasteland to live in in terms of making a decent living from any kind of job that the average person would want or be suitable for.

Everything has been awful since the 1970's for much of the north.

London might as well be its own country, with disproportionate amounts of capital investment, state support and businesses being located there.

The north gets pissed on and it is even worse for autistic northerners, who have the typical autistic barriers to face, plus a terrible economic sphere in which even regular people struggle.

Even the trains round here are only a step away from being a mop bucket on rails and I'm not even kidding

The ones in my area have been upgraded a bit in the last few years, at least on the interior. But they are still typically very slow.

People from the south would be horrified

^I'm kind of ashamed that despite living in this country for 45 years, I know very little about anything outside the 'south'.

My entire life has been lived along the south coast and it's pretty good, really. But I've never even visited most of the northern counties. I've no idea what it's like up there.

I have no personal animosity towards northerners and have never felt any real animosity from the northerners I've met for being Southern. So i don't know how real all that stuff is.

London is holding back the entire UK. Of the top 100 businesses in the UK, none of them are tech or at the forefront of innovation. Its just all banks and old companies.

Why they get such a huge chunk of UK investment for doing so little is beyond me. The UK stock market is also a joke, having a long track record of barely keeping up with inflation because companies here literally do nothing noteworthy to attract investor attention, not that banking and archaic companies have any room to expand anyway.
