Who would you prefer to run, from the GOP, for the next Presidential election?
"No one" is hardly helpful.

I am seriously interested.
Is there a better alternative to Trump?

Not my circus, not my monkeys, but ideally the sanest monkey that circus has to offer.

Nobody good candidates can ever rise to the top in either of the two major parties in the U.S. we're in a state of collapse that will not be slowed by any degree by continuing to vote for Democrats and Republicans.

The question is several kinds of inane.

In normal times it would be like asking a Republican "which democrat is acceptable?". Or anyone in any democratic country which person of the opposing party is most acceptable. They would pick the one easiest to defeat, or alternatively- the one who they could most live with if the opposing party won.

But we live Trump time, not in normal times.

With Trump its doubly stupid because right vs left is not even the issue with him.

Its about everyone right and left (GOP, Dem, Green, Libertarian, etc) on one side, and Trump by himself on the other.

If Christ returned and ran for POTUS, but lost the election (despite being the greatest person who ever lived), but denied that he lost the election and peddled the lie that the election was stolen and encouraged his supporters to have a violent coup, then I would have no choice but to NOT support Jesus because he would be a threat to democracy.

The GOP can pick anyone they want, including arch conservative Bible thumping fossils like Pense as long as the jerks they pick respect the Constitution, and the rule of law.

Trump and his more slick clone, De Santis, no. Anyone else I am aware of is fine.

A more interesting question is who would Americans on the right support if Trump disappeared, or wasnt an option anymore.

Or let me put it this way...If you are Republican, but also support the rule of law (which precludes you supporting Trump) who would you back in the coming election?

I'm saying conservative politics aren't my circus. Asking me which one is the most preferable is like asking which s**t sandwich looks tastiest.

You presume you know what interests me.

I have heard conservatives say that "Sanders was worse than Biden", in the preselection.
Are you saying you think Democrats aren't capable of this sort of thinking about conservative representatives?

Why wouldn't he be much more acceptable than Trump?
How could Ron DeSantis come close to the problems associated with Trump?

Do you consider him a narcissist like Trump?
Do you consider him supporting White Supremacist groups as much as Trump?

This is the difference between you and me.
I am non-partisan and see things from a more objective point of view even though I am more an (Australian) conservative than an (Australian) progressive.

NB, I will never vote in a political election ever again in my lifetime, not even for so-called independents.

True. I don't have answer for you then. I'm in a darkly cynical place and see zero hope for the future.

I've watched this s**t show for forty years. Having hope that something good can come from within our current political system is for fools.

Not sure, I am a little more concerned with if the democrats can come up with a decent candidate for the next election. I have heard some talk of Hilary but that is a nonsense idea...I think it would have been better if we got her over trump in 2016 but that ship has sailed.

But as for GOP candidates that would be better than trump I haven't really thought about it.

More of a Centrist than leftist, but my choice would be Larry Hogan or Adam Kinzinger.

I am not a fan of Hillary.
