Most controversial? Bor-ing!

It seems we’re all constantly disagreeing with each other, so let’s try to find something we can’t disagree on! If you disagree with someone’s post, say why. Aim is to get as little disagreement as possible. Bonus points if you can make a good argument why someone might disagree.

I’ll start:

Political campaign spending should be capped at a low level to limit the influence of political donors.

Why someone might disagree: it will either be quite easy to get around those limits, or if the loopholes are closed (as is currently the case in the UK) then anyone who can advertise will effectively have their freedom of speech curtailed.

Actually this is kinda hard. Both opposite things are kinda challenging. Being super bland is just as hard as being super provocative.

Even the cliche joke "God, Motherhood, and apple pie" (the three things every American is supposed to like doesnt work. Because it includes "god". There a many militant Atheists on WP who go after me if I included that.

I don’t think motherhood is inherently good, and apple pie is unhealthy and bad for my digestive system

I'm of the opinion that politicians do things for political purposes.

And given that on Saturday a politician came to our farm burg and the local newspaper plus 2 TV stations from the city showed up, I expect that politicians do things for publicity.

Society is complex. There are so many factors that it's practically certain that we overlook something important when thinking about it.
All proposed solutions need to be checked against practice and improved based on feedback.

After a short internship in a state senate, several city council meetings, and a few rural hog butcherings, I am inclined to agree with the illustrious Mr. Saxe:

I think that a lot of politicians on both sides of the aisle are corrupt

Lol good one I think all career politicians are corrupt so I agree with you politicians are corrupt for sure

Countries should be governed in accordance with their constitutions, while also having a process for updating those constitutions when time proves it smart to do so.

Everyone is up to believe what he wants and to live a life in which he respects himself and others.

Animal abuse and neglect should be a felony, including the abuse, neglect, and mishandling of livestock, even ones destined for slaughter.

Saddam Hussein was misunderstood. He wanted Kuwait oil, so what? No worse than what others have done.

Charles Mansion, artist, poet. Musician. Unjustly sentenced to life. He was just trying to help the world. So misunderstood.

And National socialists winning the control of Germany in 1933 was a good idea, I think we can all agree, it just went horribly wrong. Again, misunderstood.

Also Will Smith. Misunderstood. He just trying to correct Christopher. Hes a vessel of love, and shining light in Hollywood. Will Smith for president . Forget movies. Trump & smith 2024. Make it happen. We need a strong man of principle in the whitehouse. Not afraid to slap a foreign leader, when necessary.

Now, I don't believe in prayers in school. But I believe schools should hold a pledge of allegiance to Satan, at least make some room for such doctrine to be taught. In the interest of fairness. And balance.


I think these are all fairly uncontroversial.

Also I believe the entire planet should be cleansed. We need to save the environment, the animal wildlife. Therefore we must remove this contagion that is humanity. Nuking all major urban cities would be a good start. ! !!

Yes, I think that's something we can all agree on. Not controversial at all. Just basic logical common sense. ! !!
