What do you guys think about this and how it relates to climate change?

I think the Gaia Hypothesis is a tainted metaphor that looks too selectively at the evidence. Yes there are some instances of life changing the environment to make it more liveable, but there are also plenty of life making the environment worse, with humanity of course being the worst offenders but far from the only ones.

I remembered that the discussion was bleak, I forgot just how bleak:



Daniel Schmachtenberger brought up that some thinkers in India are considering global warming by western countries and it's environmental impacts on the Indian subcontinent as 'negligent genocide' and he had to admit - that framing of the situation isn't inaccurate. Regardless, above, here's two well-off white guys effectively saying that it's going to happen no matter what, there will be winners and losers, and nature will sort out the difference the way it always has. This might be where India, if they're savvy, grows their stockpile of nuclear weapons and starts amputating a random major US or European city based on a lottery system for every year that the problem isn't fixed (after all - that's just as natural as hundreds of millions of people starving).

Nuclear war to me is proof that Armageddon was nothing more than self-fulfilling prophecy.
