An issue at church

Ok, I've been having some issues at church. I volunteer as an audio/visual technician at church and being in the sound booth during service allows me to comfortably participate in service without having to be involved in crowds, plus its something I love to do as well.

Well I've been like the only tech for 3 months and then the lead tech for the church comes back and switches everything around to the way he likes it (hes done this before when he worked, just before he left for 3 months). Everyone seems to think its no big deal but its really difficult for me to deal with things that are all switched around.

Now they seem to be wanting to train the middle schoolers in the tech stuff which makes me think they want to phase me out. This makes me extremley uncomfortable because I know that I will not be able to be in church unless I'm in that booth because it provides comfort for me. I've tried before and I'm just forced to leave.

Is there nowhere else you can go if you do have to stop doing it?

Have you talked to your pastor about this?
You'd think (s)he might just be understanding, no?

I have but it seems to be laughed off and I get no answer on it.

THAT sucks. Seems like this should be someone
who should be able to help you with real problems, but
can't even handle making you comfortable in church.
I mean, I know their just people, but it almost feels
that they should be held to a slightly higher
standard than say at a diner.

The concept of people with disabilities in our church is a rather new concept. Its something that I first brought up as I see more and more people with disablities of varying kinds coming in.

Sadly its been overlooked and I don't think they really know how to deal with it. Luckily I have a friend whos a special education teacher and also an ordained pastor (but does not work as one). They have been helpful in working with me. Sadly she has moved out of the area now on a mission trip.
