You really should define what you mean by "Theosophy".

If you mean the occult movement originating in the 19th century with roots that can be traced to ancient Gnosticism and Neoplatonism, then no.

If instead you mean the study of the Biblical God, then yes.

I am actually interested in both. I don't see that the occult movement originating in the 19'th century actually denies a biblical god. It just says that there is several definitions of god. By god you could mean so much, you could mean The Absolute, you could mean Jehova, Adonai, Ein Soph and not to mention the hindu pantheons of Vishnu, Shiva, Bramha and The Brahmaa, the world soul.

What god are you refering to?

Never heard the word used for anything other than the former.

The study of the nature of a "god" is "theology". So if the god in question is that of Christianity than it's "Christian theology".

Madame Blavatsky musta gotten drunk and slurred her speech one night and got "theology" and "philosophy" confused...and the name stuck. :lol: But just for the creed she and her friends founded.
