That raving idiot, Robertson, also claimed gays wore a special ring with a needle in it, so they could inject you with AIDS by shaking hands. Thanks God he's gone!

It wasn't Pat, but someone spread one of those scarelore tales about HIV-laced needles being attached to gas pump nozzles.

Of course, it was debunked on Snopes.
