90 Day Fiancé’s Cleo Admits There’s Pressure To Do A “Good Job" Representing Trans & Neurodivergent Communities

Quote:
90 Day FiancéBefore the 90 Days star Cleo is the franchise's first trans cast member who has been open about her challenges on the show, especially when it comes to dating cis man Christian. The 32-year-old is originally from Italy, and often gets questions about her sexuality or accent from viewers. Cleo tries her best to resolve these queries while dealing with Christian, who's been shying away from being intimate with her on the show. The 30-year-old is also learning new things about Cleo after meeting her in person. He was curious about the “fish juice”, which is the estrogen gel she uses to block the action of the hormone testosterone.

Cleo is also autistic apart from being trans. Sharing her experiences on 90 Day Fiancé has helped viewers get to know her better through her journey and struggles before she transitioned.

In her recent post, Cleo shared several pictures from a photoshoot and captioned them, "As a trans, neurodivergent person, I feel like I have to do a 'good job' at representing these communities”,Cleo also believes no individual can represent any community perfectly. "I have my own shortcomings too" Cleo admitted. She thinks, as an individual, she can only represent a tiny fraction of the varied and beautiful communities that she belongs to.

Cleo mentioned how there isn’t just one given way to be a woman, a trans person, and a neurodivergent person. "I feel incredibly grateful that I can represent some people, but I want you guys to remember that I have weaknesses and faults, and that you all represent your communities on a daily basis, just by being you!" she added in conclusion.

Cleo spoke about her story as a trans woman on 90 Day Fiancé during her debut episode. She was assigned male at birth, and always felt closer to her female peers while growing up. Cleo found it hard to look into the mirror as she went about her daily life. She went to sleep praying and wishing that she would magically wake up as a girl. But Cleo was also scared about how the people in her life would accept her as a trans woman. Cleo was already leading a challenging life because of her autism, and her being trans was now being added to the mix.

Cleo has been transitioning for awhile, but she hasn't undergone gender confirmation surgery yet. She will be doing that when she feels most comfortable. Cleo takes her medication, and wants to get breast implants. She's discussed getting her prominent Adam's apple shaved, as well as getting her hairline lowered. Cleo may not have been able to form a connection with Christian on 90 Day Fiancé Before the 90 Days yet, but to her followers, she's one of the most impactful cast members ever.

It is pretty hard to represent two while making the decision when to transition. There will be tough times ahead, some people are always going to get offended. But I think she is going to be ok, she has has a healthy attitude to these challenges.
