No this post is not mine, I am not an active redditor (and I have never seen any appeal in hezbolalh's showoff videos), but there's a lot of truth in it.

A lot of you, including typically anti-Hezb users are falling for Hezb's tactics of portraying itself as the savior of Lebanon, which wouldn't have needed saving in the latest round of violence had Hezbollah not initiated the skirmishes. Some of you think it's the patriotic, anti-sectarian thing to do because they are Lebanese.
However Hezbollah, the organization not the supporters, is only Lebanese by name. Their original charter rejected the statehood in Lebanon before they concluded it's more beneficial to be conniving and present a facade of belief in Lebanese nationalism.
They are a sectarian militia that have built a state within a state with its own interest that are independent of Lebanese interests. Sometimes those interests naturally intersect, a worm in your stomach wants you to eat well but ultimately it will kill you, but don't mistake that as a proof of their loyalty to Lebanon. Hezbollah openly pledge allegiance to the supreme leader of Iran, their vision and plans surpass Lebanon's interest and are more regional and global.
If you're going to catch the bait every time by rallying around Hezbollah when s**t hits the fan and only oppose them in peace time than you're giving them a clear incentive to drag us into wars.
Years ago I used to fall for it, seeing fellow Lebanese with incredible military skills in perfectly edited videos used to give me a raging patriotic boner. But when you understand the larger picture, you refuse to be manipulated into serving things that are against your interest because of basal tribal emotions.
And just to clarify, because redditors and straw man go hand in hand, I'm not calling for you to suck Israel's dick or excuse their murder of Lebanese civilians and journalist. Any informed and decent person knows that Israel, the state not all the people, is a criminal state that breaks international law, committs the crimes of apartheid, torture, ethnic cleansing and the intentional targeting of civilians. One thing that Nasrallah said in his speech last week that I agree with is that it's the duty of every knowledgeable person regardless of nationality, religion or creed to raise their voice against Israel's crimes which it commits with impunity.
However on the strict topic of Lebanon and the Lebanese safety, the primary side to blame is Hezbollah for putting us in the eye of the storm.
P.S: Zios stay away.
EDIT: This got way more attention than I was expecting, don't plan on spending the rest of the night here. Peace out.
