They had the notion that churches should be surrounded by something resembling the Garden of Eden. After 2000 years the traditional practice might help save the ecology of the Horn of Africa.

Wow, a Christian church denomination keeping alive the ancient pre-Abrahamic tradition of sacred groves!

The Ethiopian church is among the oldest in the world. Its legendary founding is described in the Bible, in the book of Acts.

So are they doing there services outdoors? If so, that's cool. I'm not sure I would want to do that all the time, but it's a really cool idea.

And walking to and from the church through the preserved woods would put you into ..a spirtual meditative frame of mind I would think. It kinda does me just looking at the vid.

That on top of preserving some the original biome.
