I don't know why politicians make promises to their voters about doing things they'll do if they get into government and end up sometimes doing the opposite or do perhaps the same thing as the previous government had done even when it was a different political party. To be honest, now the UK has Labour back in power, it feels no different than it was under the Conservatives or Tories. I keep hearing about Labour taking the winter fuel payments from some pensioners and hearing the uproar from some people and feeling that if Labour is a party for the common and working people, why is it doing that to people they are supposed to represent ? I've not really been a Tory voter but I also don't feel I am an entirely labour supporting person either. I always find myself torn between which party suits me. In the past, I don't know how popular Labour was when Jeremy Corbyn was Leader, I mean unlike other people in Labour, he was as much as I can understand, a leader with very socialist ideas. I remember explaining to someone a while about the fact that both socialism/communism and capitalism have their faults and that I'd much rather live in a capitalist society than a socialist/communist society even though the one I prefer to live in, again, is not perfect.

1. It gets them elected.

2. It keeps them in office.
