Justin Welby
Is he being punished for getting too political ?
I have always found his pronouncements on current affairs quite reasonable but not always in line with current political thinking.
For years we have been inundated with stories of clergymen in the Catholic and Protestant churches being moved on to fresh pastures by their church elders after repeated accusations of sexual abuse of children, where they have been presented with a fresh flock of innocents to prey upon, and they have happily obliged. I can even remember a couple of cases where they were welcomed into the sanctuary of the Vatican as a final refuge, but I don't remember anyone calling for the Pope to resign !
Is holding this one man responsible for what has been happening inside these paedophile organisations for so many years fair ?
Was he expected to get out a magic broom and sweep it all away ?
