Notice how quiet the opposition to Trump's win has been compared to 2016? Instead of all of those protests, you have a few people including me saying how bad this or that thing he said is, or bad this pick is, the same thing that has not worked for 10 years now. Pathetic.
They tried 10 years of different actions, protests, riots, Russiagate, two impeachments, and legal actions, some actually successful. What could be more of a "we got him" moment then beating him in an election? Not just 2020, the 2018 midterms when Dems gained 40 seats, the 2022 midterms when the candidates he endorsed went down in flames. Remember after the 2022 midterms when all the talk was about the Republicans growing tired of him? Remember after 2020 election all the massive celebrations in the streets, the tears of joy and relief based on the wrong assumption that the bad Orange Man villain had been slayed? On November 5, that turned into the ultimate "own the libs" moment.
The shock, tears, and rage of 2016 turned into disappointment and resignation in 2024. There is something about the idea that the second time can never be like the first, I guess. ABC just gave Trump 15 million in a defamation settlement. Most symbolic to me is the MSNBC's Morning Joe Show. For 9 years that show was one continuous scathing attack on Trump. After the election, they visited Mar a Lago for "reconciliation" they said. I call it doing what they have constantly blistered the Republicans for, selling out. Criticize the mainstream media all you want, they do know how to read polls. Trump is more popular than ever, 8 to 10 points better than at any point during his administration.
Maybe something will happen that finally ends his career nothing lasts forever, the clock will always strike 12 twice a day. Maybe the anti-Trumpers will get out of their paralyzed stupor, and figure out something that actually works, maybe tariff-caused inflation will backfire, maybe he will get us into a unpopular war, maybe the world will have enough of being led by a self-destructive country and become willing to take the considerable economic pain a break with America will entail. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe, Maybe, Maybe.

The Democrats know when they've lost the election. I'm not saying they never put up a fight. But the thing is they don't deny reality like the modern GOP does. Remember when Trump and his supporters pretended Trump had won the election in 2020?
I had a real fun back and fourth with a guy on Facebook in December 2020 where he kept saying Trump was coming back to the White House in 2021 or Trump was going to crash Biden's inauguration. I kept on saying "No he won't, Trump isn't going to do anything."
When January rolled around I wanted to point out that my prediction had been write but I couldn't find the guy because our last interaction had been a month ago and Facebook notifications only go back a few weeks.
