This video debunks popular videos that make claims about what some “atheists” supposedly said on their deathbeds. More broadly and interesting to me is how it demonstrates the way misinformation is sometimes spread.

Lying is a sin, unless you're lying to non-believers in order to deceive them into following Me in bad faith, then it's not just acceptable but mandatory. —Big J

Yeah, it does seem like they typically don’t even care if their information is factual or not. Their main purpose is to scare people into believing. I guess that’s how propaganda often works. It’s fascinating and pretty damn sus to me the amount of time and effort that goes into the presentation of some videos when, apparently, no time was spent on fact-checking anything.

Something else I’ve been thinking about: it appears like such propagandists assume that atheists don’t reflect on death at all which is strange. Not only have I thought about it often, but I find the idea of a permanent sleep vaguely comforting. Until the existence of Hell is proven, most atheists are unlikely to be swayed by threats of it. If believers could provide actual evidence that Hell exists, they’d have something relevant to say here.

Even if they found an actual atheist who truly said something comparable to the alleged quotes while dying, it wouldn’t mean that Hell exists. Statements made by dying people wouldn’t exactly be particularly strong evidence for Hell.

Having said that, it does seem like there is a certain ghoulish factor involved sometimes which I find particularly disturbing.

Speaking of ghoulish, this minute long video is a bit freaky:
