Most of the Old Testament and books like the Books of Leviticus have been completely obviated as orders or guides to live one's life by and this sort of thing by the coming of Jesus..... Most of the modern liberals know absolutely nothing about this and wouldn't have the slightest comprehension of something like this, like when they've been going around to Trump rallies and reading obscurant Bible passages that sound obscene in isolation from the Book of Job out-loud, and no one has been knowing what the hell they have been talking about.

For me, I've always greatly admired John Huss, who, just before he was burnt at the stake and refused to recant, said, "What I have spent my life teaching with my lips, I now seal with my blood !".... I mean, Damn, now that was a man who was completely serious in his convictions and what he believed, perhaps like nothing we see today.

Perhaps the rise of atheism is somewhat responsible?

Dying for your convictions seems like a decent way to go if you're genuinely expecting judgement and eternal rewards on the other side.

No so attractive when you're just dead and everything goes on without you, pretty much as it was.

I don't believe atheism was a significant movement during Jan Hus' lifetime (1370—6 July 1415).

Personally, I like the way the Hussites make war, but I don't care for their ideology.

^I was referring to the rise of atheism in modern times leading to fewer people willing to die for their convictions.
