This message below was sent around my office earlier this week.

Well I just wanted to tell you about what happened to me this morning. I was driving to work on the highway today, when a big semi pulled in between me and the red car just ahead of me. I started my usual grumbling, mad because this semi was really going to slow me down.
About a couple of miles down the road, I caught up with the red car....it had been in an really nasty accident with another SUV....Could it be that I, too would have been involved in this accident if I would have been allowed to follow behind the red car as I had wanted to do? Who knows, all I know is that somehow this semi driver that had all of my anger directed at him, has now been transformed, in my mind, as my guardian angel. :?
Life is funny, sometimes...or at least mine is.

This is called The Little Things that God blesses us with. (If you do not believe in God, just replace the word God with whatever fits your belief system...karma....allah....budda.....nature.....whatever you wish - just try not to miss the point that this message is trying to make.)

Quote:
The Little Things that God blesses us with

As you might know, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.

One of them missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.

One's car wouldn't start.

One went back to answer the telephone.

One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore ! to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am

stuck in traffic,

miss an elevator,

turn back to answer a ringing telephone...

all the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself,

this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong,

the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys,

you hit every traffic light,

don't get mad or frustrated; God is at work watching over you.

May God ! continue to bless you with all those annoying little things

and may you remember their possible purpose.

Pass this on to someone else, if you'd like. There is NO LUCK attached.

If you delete this, it's okay: God's Love Is Not Dependent On E-Mail ! !

(that's the cool part)

Bless be the little things, as they shine,
polish and groom. I stand by the corner
as the world fullfills it's zoom.

Superficial minds clutter with what to do,
and I stand here and count my blessing by
the number 2.

1 for the speech that flows through my head!
2 for the wisdom, that lightning avoid and then
I would have been dead.
3 for the eyes, that peirce the inner soul
to protect, for prowling wolves lurk in every
thread.

Bless be the little things shining and not outgrown.
Be they sublty and sometimes the shubery over
grown. Pierced be my finger that lead it to
bleed. Passing car, slight dramatic pause
and that, as such I wouldn't see!

Blessbe!

It's amazing about all the little things in life we take for granted. Those are just the things that may end up as just important as the major decisions we make. :)

All of those people probably have some degree of post-traumatic stress disorder now! Plus, must struggle with feelings of guilt.

God shall smite those who dare arrive to work on-time!

They could be suffering from "survivor guilt".

one from my personal history. My great great grandparents were gonna travel on a new trans-atlantic ship. However they overslept and missed the boat. The ship they missed, was the titanic

I'm glad I read this. Puts all your little niggles into perspective.

I like this. I'm glad I read it. There is an interesting, similar thing I know about, but few others do:

During World War II, there was a ship captain who was about to be relieved. (For those who do not know Navy-speak, that means someone else was about to get his job so he could go do a different job.) Unfortunately, at that very moment, the ship was hit by a bomb. His relief was killed, but the captain survived. That same captain later became an admiral and helped end the Cuban Missile Crisis. (No, I'm not kidding!)

There is synchronicity in the randomness of life.
