Almost everyone I talk to about heaven seems to believe that it is similar to our lives now only better somehow. My mom tells me that my brain and stuff will be fixed when I die. This all makes me very scared. I don't like my life now and if everyone else is happier, I probably won't be since their happy things are my stressful things. I don't know if I want to be fixed. So I don't really want to go to this heaven that my parents and others of my faith believe in, but I can't help but follow all the commandments and rules because they are all good things. This is making me increasingly worried these days, I'm not sure why and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this train of thought as well at some point. Thanks!

You sound pretty young. You have a lot of time ahead of you with many important things to happen to you for you to think about. Heaven is the least of your worries.

Worrying about unanswerable questions is not the best use of your life now, Sand is right, peace j

Personally I think it would be more terrifying to be imprisoned in a place for all eternity thats full of limits without access to my own free will..ie, what your talking about. I guess thats just me though.

Yet another fatal flaw in Christianity.

You can go to hell for all eternity where you do the same thing everyday over and over.
or
You can go to heaven for all eternity where you do the same thing everyday over and over.

If you think about it; believing in an afterlife is a bum deal.

Actually, Christianity doesn't talk at all about hell or heaven in specific detail and the idea that it's reliving your life is a fallacy. Heaven is the new Jerusalem where everyone is happy. Hell is living in constant sin.

I wouldn't presume to know the mind of God who obviously permits many things here on Earth that is, to say the least, downright despicable, but perhaps why people are delighted in Heaven is that they are happy not to be in Hell. On that basis the worse the conditions of Hell are the happier the people in Heaven are not to be there. If nobody were in Hell people might thing twice about why Heaven is so attractive.

You shouldn't be afraid, heaven is defined as being awesome for all who enter, this means that you will enjoy it. Let's just put it this way: if a God who is for all intents and purposes defined as good and perfect creates a place to reward those who are faithful to him, then it will be a reward rather than a punishment, to question heaven would be to question God and you have already accepted the glorious nature of God.

They're pretty quiet about it but they do mention that Jesus promised them eternal life. Which would imply living for an infinite amount of time, which would mean that you'd eventually run out of new things to do in heaven and you'd have to resort to doing the same things over and over. It's indistinguishable from hell.

Thats a lie. I know the Bible inside and out, Old and New Testaments. Heaven is eternal bliss and cannot be put into terms of earth. In Heaven you wouldn't have to repeat the same actions over and over if it made you miserable.

So heaven is a Victorian-style opium den?

If you have infinite time you have two options. Repeat the same actions over and over, or do nothing. Both of these would be boring.

Eternal bliss is a patently absurd concept.

No, that's a strictly Islamic thing where pleasure in heaven is carnal, bestial and reflective of what the sultans did all day long.
