I'm not sure that this is the right forum for this, but I can't think of of which one this should be put in.

Okay, hypothetically, let's say that every human has some sort of intangible chemistry on a basic level that determines how likable that person is. Whatever it is scientists haven't figured out yet.

My question is, if there are some people that are born without this intangible likability factor wouldn't it be very hard to find out because nobody would care about them?

No, probably not. The unliked people would probably go psychotic or eccentric from time to time, thus bringing them to the public's eye.

There is some ad space on Popular Science that suggests some [un-fda approved] trust chemical that can make people like you, but those ads are taken with a grain of salt.

People first have to know me, before they like me. I am not the cuddly type. But that extreme, no.

People would have problems getting things done from others. They would probably be loners, with its advantages and disadvantages.

No, because they'd see other people doing things together, having friends and relationships, and realize that people didn't want to be friends with them. I know, because this is the story of my life! I'm always the one left out of things.

I think that is oxytocin. There is no doubt that oxytocin released by your own brain can make you more relaxed and trusting. But there is no evidence that snorting oxytocin will make others trust you more.

Psychopathy, these people need to be locked away, even if they haven't done anything **yet**. Psychopathy is a mental condition where people may be very intelligent, but very manipulative, and unable to comprehend empathy. Theyr very nihilistic and dangerous people.

An unlikely story topic

Some people have personalities that draw others to them like moths to a light bulb. I have never been able to fugure that out. I am not talking about psychopaths. I am refering to the charismatics and charmers of this world, such as Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, Opra Winfrey, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Princess Di, etc. I mention celebrities and politicians because they are universally known. I believe this is a trait these individuals were born with. Such a trait would drive me bonkers, if I was suddenly saddled with it.

As for the topic at hand, we who live on the Autistic Spectrum can try someone's patience, but I do not think this would make others dislike us. I have a hunch we are more misunderstood than disliked. I have read many on this website and I find their personalities refreshingly different, quirky and even pleasant. We are just harder to get to know, valuing privacy, our special interests, our personal integrity, before we let others get close. I think this is a good survival mechanism. I certainly do not wish to be cannibalized in the name of friendship.

All right, I think people misunderstood the question.

To be clear, I am not talking about AS, although I can see why one would automatically be lead to think that.

I am just asking that if someone was for some reason unlikable (not AS), so this person asked a psychiatrist or something about their problem then wouldn't it be likely that the psychiatrist wouldn't diagnose that person correctly because the said psychiatrist doesn't like the patient?

It is more likely to receive an incorrect diagnosis by incompetence rather than malice on the part of the doctor. I have met only a couple who are malevolent, but most (in Minnesota and Texas that I've seen) are incompetent and some are lazy too.

I thought it was pretty obvious you weren't talking about AS - I've got a couple of friends, and even a wife, so I can't be completely unlikeable...
