I like Ikea's smaller products like lighting or artsy (some would say kitsch) storage containers, utensils, appliances, etc., but find the furniture to be mostly very low quality and/or visually unappealing. Making bathroom cabinets out of particle-board is just plain insane - that stuff soaks up the steam from the shower and swells up like a sponge.... Still, sometimes you need a cheap table or something and they definitely know how to make stuff cheap.

It's okay. My dad makes it a point to visit every single Ikea in existence whenever we go on a trip or something, but I think it's a waste of time. It's just because he has some Swedish blood in him.

They're cheaper on a lot of items than other stores, but yeah, never go on a Saturday or school holidays.
