In your opinion is homosexuality a bad thing??

Did any religious beliefs influence your answer?

For me homosexuality is not a bad thing and yes a religious belief did influence by answer, I am a christian and I study my bible and I have yet to see anything that says anything bad about homosexuality. I have seen a lot of stuff twisted into meaning one thing when its real meaning is something totally different.

Whether or not homosexuality is "bad" is ultimately a matter of taste. It's a matter of opinion. Focusing on homosexuality as a sin is turning a blind eye to all other forms of sin. Including your own. Everybody fails to notice the planks in their own eyes. If all kinds of people can manage to get along and coexist peacefully, I think that would be a better fulfilment of Christian endeavour.

I don't like it, neither do I like Wal-Mart, capitalism, communism, etc. There's a long list of things I think shouldn't exist, but who cares what I think?

The bible says 'love thy neighbour as thyself' so .... no, not a sin. In my view it is a sin to make judgments on people and to hate.

Hating another group of people, that hatred alone, will not make you righteous. Be sure that you are free of sin before you commence throwing stones. In reality, none of us have the right to throw that first stone. Or the second, or the third ...

But we'd all like to believe we're better than someone. That's human nature. What Jesus taught His disciples was oh so simple, yet oh so difficult for the average person to follow.

Interesting how the Bible is being brought up. I suppose these would be some of the various passages that have been misused to say that God doesn't approve of homosexuality?

Leviticus 18:22-26 CEV
[22] It is disgusting for a man to have sex with another man.
[23] Anyone who has sex with an animal is unclean.
[24] Don't make yourselves unclean by any of these disgusting practices of those nations that I am forcing out of the land for you. They made themselves
[25] and the land so unclean, that I punished the land because of their sins, and I made it vomit them up.
[26] Now don't do these sickening things that make the land filthy. Instead, obey my laws and teachings.

Leviticus 20:13 CEV
[13] It's disgusting for men to have sex with one another, and those who do will be put to death, just as they deserve.

Romans 1:25-28 CEV
[25] They gave up the truth about God for a lie, and they worshiped God's creation instead of God, who will be praised forever. Amen.
[26] God let them follow their own evil desires. Women no longer wanted to have sex in a natural way, and they did things with each other that were not natural.
[27] Men behaved in the same way. They stopped wanting to have sex with women and had strong desires for sex with other men. They did shameful things with each other, and what has happened to them is punishment for their foolish deeds.
[28] Since these people refused even to think about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That's why they do all sorts of indecent things.

Here is also an interesting one:

Mat 5:19 If you reject even the least important command in the Law and teach others to do the same, you will be the least important person in the kingdom of heaven. But if you obey and teach others its commands, you will have an important place in the kingdom.

Strong words.

I'll never have this all figured out. I think if you really have it all figured out, you go crazy.

Unless you have the capacity to store the knowledge and ability to use it, I suppose so.

If the world seems to be on the brink of destroying itself, it is because of HATE. Shouldn't our priority be dealing with that, and not interfering in the lives of people who love each other?

Does anyone notice how I'm trying to come across as gay-friendly? I'm really waving the white flag here. :(

Iamnotaparakeet! You're back! :D We missed you.

Anyways, homosexuality: "Let he who is without blame cast the first stone." "Take out the plank in your own eye first." "Judge not, lest ye also be judged." Maybe homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of the Lord, but I'm in no position to pass judgment on my fellow man. All have fallen short of perfection, all are sinners, all need the forgiveness of Christ.

Hi Orwell!

BTW, the complete passage of "Judge not, lest ye also be judged." Is:

Matthew 7:1-5 KJV
[1] Judge not, that ye be not judged.
[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
[3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
[4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
[5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

It's not that we aren't supposed to judge, but that we are to have the correct standard of measurement and live accordingly.

Homosexuality isn't bad or good... it just is...

If you believe that people were created by God, then that means homosexuals were created by God. Do any of you Christians who believe homosexuals to be evil really believe that our infallable God is making that many mistakes?
