I would say I was Left-Wing Libertarian, even though I call myself a Socialist.

I am a progressive liberal from the only county in the entire state of Texas that DID NOT support Bush, but then again we are so far West, we are literally closer to Los Angeles than we are to Houston.

That's me, too. I believe the government doesn't have the authority to tell us how to live. I also believe the government is there to help people who need it. (look at some of us on this site, for example. Many of us are not really capable of existing in this society without help.) Governments should be like doctors: "do no harm."

To accomplish this, taxes are necessary. I have no problem with them, and feel the wealthy should be taxed at a much higher rate than others - they owe us, they wouldn't be wealthy if it weren't for us.

I tend to lean to the right with my political views. I favor gun rights, and limited government intrusion into our lives. I also believe that our military should respond in kind to any kind of attack aimed at us. I also don't believe in genetic enginering or abortion becasue of what some NT's want to do to people like us.

I am not a neoconservative though. I don't believe in using the military and other means to force our way of life onto others. I'm not self righteous and I don't believe in invoking the lords name as pawn to convince others that my ways are "right".

I also despise the people on the far left, I.E the ALF/ELF/PETA/Greenpeace crowd.

I am pretty socialist. I think the state is for the betterment of all equally. The wealthy should be taxed heavily, and given a place of honor in society for their achievements and contributions.
However, I voted (politics is for morons) as this more truly reflects my personal ideology.

I suppose you could call me libertarian. But I think right-left is a flawed dichotomy.

I'm neither right nor left. I am a Liberal who believes in guns, pot, and free markets. I guess that makes me a right-libertarian, but I don't consider myself right wing.

I think Greenpeace have a little more credibility than the other organisations he mentioned.

I have a question, if you don't mind answering; were you into the CND thing, too?
