I'm here, the forum is mostly school kids who aren't victims of taxes yet.

I'm neither liberal or conservative, I'm a free thinker, or individual.

People would dub me as liberal, but I'm actually more of a centrist.

I am also a liberal, but there are lots of conservatives here too, its not really a political forum, although some can make it seem like one at times. Nightbender your going to have to accept that other people have different political views that you may not share, your just going to have to learn to deal with it, labeling people Leftwings is not fair, I for one do not like having a label, political or otherwise.

Unlike Middle-Age Middle-Class People who aren't getting taxed fairly, unlike the rich who get scot-free due to tax breaks for the rich?

the "liberals" tend to come from people who were suppressed and oppressed as people or movements and tend to want self-determination, freedom, etc. Given how many aspies had those experiences, it's natural...

You people and your whining over taxes. If you don't like taxes, cut military spending. It's not like the whole world is going to crumble if the US goes a month without attacking some country, and it's about time the Europeans and the Chinese were given some nudge to pull their weight. Besides, global politics is all about economic power now. That's the new arms race, and we're going to lose it if the military keeps getting a big check to pursue an antiquated means of resolving political problems. You think I'm joking? If West don't get on top of their game soon, we'll all be speaking Chinese within a generation. It's on the horizen, I tell you.

I'm definately rightwing/nationalist or whatever you want to call it.
I'm only conservative on the subject of wanting to keep our values and honouring our past.
I despise the left for forcing multiculturalism on us, and throwing away all our money.
If people come here they should adapt to our ways, not the other way around.
That's my main concern when it comes to politics.
A point of view from a European right winger.

More than the actual extreme left i dislike the center left and center.
They increase taxes, whilst increasing theyr own wages by 30% here in the Netherlands.
Than there is the 1% of the national product wich gets send abroad as develemental aid.
After like 30 years those countries have shown no improvement.
Heck some are even burning our flag and boycotting us.
Yet we are still forced to give our money to them.
The army seems to be lead like a division of the US army, fighting any war Bush pleases.
One thing that also is hilarious is that the supposed left always acts like it's against all these offencive wars.
Yet when it comes to voting on it, they agree to it.

 True, very true.
Hence, I read endless naïve variations of "Duh govremint iz are frind111!!1!111" and related sentiments. Cute, but sad.

Oh-kay...

Isn't that the absolutely primary duty of government -- to protect its citizens from invading forces?

Uh, Griff, how about cutting government grants to swanky art museums displaying works such as the Virgin Mary made out of feces? How about cutting into all the unnecessary spending, before we get to whittling down the most crucially necessary spending there is. September 11th wasn't really my cup of tea, and so I don't want it to happen again, ya know? September 11th wasn't exactly the result of us being prepared militarily, so I doubt that slashing the military budget is the solution.

Well, I would say I am more of a conservative than a liberal, but I have a libertarian friend who says that I don't sound like a conservative to him. So I don't know. A liberal conservative or a conservative liberal? I don't fit the stereotypes of either, so you would probably call me a Purple Stater. I can see merits on both sides. There are some things I agree with and some things I don't.

What I don't like is extremist positions on either side, which unfortunately seems to be more and more the case. Which is why I rarely reveal my views on certain issues. I used to do that when I was younger and learned the hard way about intolerance. It's amazing how quickly people will turn on you when they find you are ----- (fill in the blank). No offense, but I've seen how people get slammed on here. No different from anywhere else.

I would say if you want to know what a person's (or even a group's) true character is, look at how they treat others who don't agree with them. There are times I have felt like a minority person in disguise at a KKK rally, as long as I keep my mouth shut and my hood on, things are cool. I'm one of them. The minute the mask comes off, look out.

Actually, most members are not schoolkids and being a liberal does not mean you are exempt from pays taxes.

I think aspies tend to be more open to others' points of view and tend to be more rational which is probably why a lot of aspies are more liberal. Also, many aspies are not very religious compared to NTs.

The United States spending 6 billion dollars killing people in Iraq each month is radicalizing more people in the middle east. If any Iraqi citizens didn't want to join Al Queda before the Iraq war, they probably have reconsidered once their families were killed by US missiles. I'd say we're worse off now than we ever were.
