For those of you that dont know, to be teetotal means that you dont consume alcohol. It just seems like with the execption of my mom and 2 of my friends most people I know drink, and not to sound 'holier-than-thou' but it saddens me, espically when I find out someone close to me starts doing it after telling me a few months/weeks prior that theyd never do it, it just really dissapoints/hurts me. Beacuse ive seen what it does. :(

I am TeeTotal between drinks :)
Seriously though, I think most things in moderation tends to be a good rule.

I understand where you're coming from, but many times drinking just a little, turns into some, which turns into alot/all the time. And I forgot to mention that im 17, and almost every teen that drinks drinks to get drunk, thus making it even worse. But even alot of the adults around where I live will be out at the bar till 1:00 am, come home wasted and start beating their wife and kids

You have a point about alcohol and violence, however as was tried in the US prohibition does not work, maybe the answer lies in more apropriate punishment for drunken violence, I am not talking about harsher penalties, the harshest penalty of all has not stopped murders.
With regard to teenage binge drinking, it is a problem because this behaviour can and does lead to permanent brain injuries. I dont know what the answer is but prohibition is not it. IMO education is always a good starting point

I had one beer on a camping trip, but otherwise have never touched alcohol.

I don't like the taste of most alcoholic drinks and hate being even slightly drunk. I can take a glass of wine or beer on occasion but am not tempted to drink much. I do not hang out with people much and have been in a bar about five or six times in my life and do not find the atmosphere there interesting. I have thought it was because I probably have Asperger's symptoms that I find alcohol distasteful but maybe not. I am not a kid and do not expect to change. But if people delight in destroying themselves with excess activity it's none of my business.

I'm only tee-total when I'm sober. I do like to drink but probably once every 4months at the most

I am not a teetotal, but I drink a lot of tea  Funny word.
I do drink alcohol, just because I like the taste, which doesn't mean I get drunk every night or drink every night. I like a glass of very good (Islay) single malt whiskey, so I would have huge money problems if I would drink loads and every day.
I think I have a healthy diet and treating yourself on something you really like, but not is not healthy is okay. There are lots of nice things that are bad for you and you can get addicted too, like coffee, chocolate, etc. As long as you are not bringing other people in danger or affect their health (like smoking, or become a aggressive alcoholic, etc). I think there is nothing wrong with treating yourself on something you really like.
I know people who are straight edgers and people who drink now and then and it's all fine.
What happens I think is that people start drinking at a younger age and more too because of breezers and other fizzy alcohol drinks. It is easy to drink not noticing the alcohol (took a sip from a friend and it's really horribly sweet, yuk!). I believe it is wrong that the industry is trying to get teens hooked on alcohol like this.
Another quite old (but still going on) phenomena in the Netherlands is with student organisations where you have to do lots of horrible and stupid introductional tasks/assignments before you can become a member. It often involves a lot of drinking and it does happen that young people die of drinking too much.

What does alcohol itself taste like? Is it the alcohol or the drink you do not like? I love beer, I hate wine. So it must be the drink and not the alcohol I like

I might have a drink once a year. Sometimes two drinks, but never the same night.

I don't like the taste of alcohol. I've tried most of the alcohols I believe - beer, gin, vodka, wine, rum, and whiskey; of the bunch rum is the best tasting to me, and that's still bad. I may have one or two alcoholic drinks a year if that, mixes like 1 part rum and 2 parts eggnog or 1 part vodka and 3 parts orange juice(lol), something that drowns the alcohol. Really I'm amazed anyone could actually like the taste of alcohol, it's just repugnant to me. They say it's an acquired taste, but it's not one I want to acquire or think is worth acquiring.

Sometimes I think that too; then I remember that I enjoy coca cola, which is just like brown malted acid.
