Religion stems from philosophy, and is governd by it, and most religious peeple chose there religion becos of a personal philosophy which fits with that religion.

Politics shoud allways primarily involve philosophy becos nowing that other peeples views matter is a philosophical concept stemming from recognising other peeple as equals, wich meens that if a leeder no longer thinks philosophicly, then he/she makes decisions effecting the entire population, based solely on him/herself.

Are you sure? Do you have facts from statistics?

1) How do you think religion started? Peeple started to be curius about were they came from, how and why they were here.

2) No, but i prefer to beleeve that than becos they blindly follow evryone around them. Personally, my philosophy falls somewere between cristianity and buddhism.

Well they all start with the same letter. Except Religion, which starts with the next letter along apart from Q, and Q doesn't really count anyway because it should be bundled with U not a seperate letter.

now hold on a minute there young feller...(coughs indignantly into long white moustache)

I never heard such a thing as this before, in fact it's so outlandish I'm not even sure how to refute it: most people don't choose a religion in an intellectual sense anyway, if it's real it's more of a heart response whereas philosophy is an intellectual pursuit, by and large.

I think it's more common for religion to challenge personal philosophy rather than fit with it, at least after the initial period.

I don't think people were curious where they came from very much. A little maybe.

1st explanation: I think they made religion so they can have some "higher beeing" that is always with them, listens to them anytime they like.

2nd explanation: I mean some people are very social and likes to be with people, but they can't be with people all the time, so those who want makes a religion with some god, who is always with them.
Thus the 'having company' problem is solved, at least partly.

As one of our Canadian politicians said: "religion is hereditary - you get it from your parents". :-P

I thought science, religion and mythology (which is essentially religion without faith) all started because the human mind has a need to know the answer to the question "why?". Religion and mythology allow us the freedom to "make stuff up" when we can't find an answer through scientific method.

Yes, but if sumthing fits with your own personal philosophy, your more likely to ALLOW yourself to beleeve it. Its a psycological thing.

maybe it's a problem of definitions - I think of philosophy as an intellectual quest for truth or understanding of some sort whereas religion is essentially mysterious and is to do with 'notknowing' rather than knowing. Put another way it's not about finding the answers, it's about accepting that there's just some stuff that is beyond most of us most of the time, which I for one am very grateful for.

I think they all belong together because many people hold very different views (as if that isn't already obvious) and can be quite controversial to discuss. :)

They all concern our actions or interactions. We are social animals and rules governing our behaviour, whether it be from within ( the philosophy side) , or without ( politics and religion ( although i would expect a few flames on religion here)). Historically they can't really be seperated. Maybe some people talking on this would find this site entertaining? http://skepdic.com/

They both benefit each other.
