So what does Evolution mean to You?

Do You just see as Darwin's Theory of Evolution (Natural Selection)

Do you believe in Evolution only as the only explaining factor of Mankind.

Does Anybody believe in something else than Evolution as being the way we got here.

Does Anybody just believe that Animals just go through Adaptions but remain the same species.

Or does Anybody have any New Ideals on this.

I treat natural selection and evolution lightly. I treat it like a theory. A possible explanation. But i don't say i do that just so i can dismiss it and continue believing whatever i already do. I treat it this way to keep from offending people but personally in my own head i see it as the real and true origin of life. Infact i view natural selection as a beautiful law of the universe.

That which survives better survives. It is a law of the universe. It covers everything, the origin of species is just one result of it.

So as far as everything that matters in real life goes i accept evolution and natural selection as the answer.

I also don't believe in god as most people see it. However i live for myself and god. But i don't think god did much of anything signifigant like design the universe or humanity and crap like that.

I'd say a lot of what mankind has turned out to be could be seen and understood through natural "elimination" on many levels. But what mankind has turned out to be is more complicated that simply our biological makeup. So in that sense i don't think evolution is the only factor in human development.

I dont really believe that anything but evolution created us, but i dont dismiss any alternatives as impossible or silly.

Well, there's two types of evolution: macro and micro. Macroevolution is commonly involved with changes from species to species (fish to lizards), and microevolution is involved with changes within a species (how did some humans become dark-skinned and dark-haired, while others have light skin and light hair?). I believe that microevolution is a perfectly plausible theory (and one that can probably be proven), but I have my doubts about macroevolution.

The natural process by which life on earth adapts.

Essentially.

Huh?

Well, there can be no question that all life forms have evolved, but exactly how, when, where, and why are still subject to investigations. The number of factors influencing these circumstances can be exceedingly complex, and therefore difficult to understand.

Of course animals can go through adaptations but remain the same species; there is genetic variety in all populations of life forms, but this isn't all they do. Geographical isolation is usually the quickest way to produce a new species. Remember that the terms of classification, such as "genus" and "species" are artificial ones. Two creatures are generally considered the same species if they are capable of reproducing together. Some different species within a genus can produce a hybrid as well (the mule and liger are good examples). There have even been instances of animals form different genera producing offspring. There was one case of a male African Elephant (genus Loxodonta) mating with a female Asian Elephant (genus Elephas) and producing some sort of weird hybrid, but that baby died after only a week or so.

Certain other issues arise to make classification difficult. Suppose frogs from area A can successfully breed with frogs from area B. Area B frogs can also mate with frogs from area C. However, frogs from area C cannot mate with froms from area A. What, then? Is each a different species? Subspecies?

Yeah, pretty much.

Here it gets tricky... Are you asking do I think we evolved from apes? Yes.

Are you asking are evolutionary instincts what motivates human society? Partly, but there are so many other factors going on, like love, financial systems, spirituality, the formation of nation-states, etc etc. Some people may say that these other factors are really just another part of evolution if I could look at it from a more cynical perspective... I don't think I agree with them.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here :?

There's a big difference between natural selection and evolution. I'd imagine many creationists have no problem with the idea of natural selection.

"natural selection" is a concept that Darwin introduced, but has since been twisted to justify human malice. A pseudo-science called "Social Darwinism" was developed to justify the wealthy exploiting the poor. They could simply state "it's natural selection, I won out, so it's my right to harm those below me".

Evolution, and in particular macro-evolution is a whole separate kettle of fish. People don't want to believe in macro-evolution because it makes humans not "special". Boo-hoo I say. :P

means nothing 2 me. I'm a creationist.
Do You just see as Darwin's Theory of Evolution (Natural Selection)
no, Evolution id false Creation is The Truth.
Do you believe in Evolution only as the only explaining factor of Mankind.
no. We where created in God's Image. God created the World in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
Does Anybody believe in something else than Evolution as being the way we got here.
Yea i Belive God Created us in his Image.
Does Anybody just believe that Animals just go through Adaptions but remain the same species. no God created them the way they r.

Ah your just promoting discussion.

I don't believe anything.
I do know that in some form evolution exists.
By listening to me, you have proven it yourself.
