Sound off fellow Aspies, on any interesting measures, propositions,
or referendums in your area. They must on the November 4th ballot.

In Oregon, there is Measure 56.
If passed, it will give power back to the voter
and will stop counting no-shows as a "NO" vote.
It will increase the fairness in elections.

In Portland, there are Measure 26-95 and Measure 26-96.
26-95 is a bond measure and will cost $374 million.
If passed, it will help out all the campuses of my college. {There are 4.}

26-95 was proposed to address workforce shortages,
outdated technology, and students on waiting lists.

For my "home campus", it will add more classrooms, increase the library's capacity,
add more parking, and increase instruction for careers in K-12 education.

If a home costs $178,000, the taxpayer pays 33 cents for every $1000 assessed value.
The value of it is roughly $5 a month and $60 a year. It's a good deal.

Measure 26-96 costs $100 million.
If passed, it will expand & renovate the only zoo in Oregon.

No shows counted as a NO vote now I am sure the US is stuffed.

I like the idea of local referendums at the same time as the general election. The best way to get fair elections is by compulsory voting. We have it in OZ and it works really well.

Hey, AnonymousAnonymous, I live in Oregon too. Did you see Measure 65? It's for instant runoff voting. What do you think of it?
