Now...as a young lad I was a Christian for really unknown reasons, until i looked at it-I didn't like the fact that;
A-how homophobic it was (being bisexual-I refuse to be a part of any homophobic faith)
B-the servant aspect (all that sin crap-I am not perfect but I am not as f****d at a lot of these insane people say)
C-the televangelists

A nice religion with a lot of COMPLETELY f****d up s**t within it.
I like Wicca, but it has nowhere to really go in it.
No real priests (when I was a kid I wanted to be a Minister...not sure why :S)
then the weight of the world crushed my spirit
ehhh thank Kerney Thomas for hours of laughs and this young lads lack of faith in a God lol

Yeah, conservative christianity is a little out of wack. You might like more liberal forms of christianity such as Trinitarian Universalism. It focuses much more on the big picture of Jesus's message of love and good will rather than degrading people for being different than themselves, like conservative christianity tends to do.

Christianity has a lot of different interpretations. Deists and Quakers don't take most of the bible literally at all. Their beliefs are basically God exists but nobody has a monopoly on what God's wishes are. Hence neither of them believe in hierarchical churches. Although Quakers are usually very against war. That is one of the few things they believe is never right I suppose.

Or if your looking for a religion based on self improvement that doesn't rely on a god check out Jainism.

How about the Baha'i faith, if you're leaning towards monotheism? They consider homosexuality/bisexuality as a medical condition (from birth) which will be cured in the future, and the kitab-i-aqdas commands that gay people must be treated with respect. However, they are encouraged to maintain their chastity until a cure is discovered. Quite a unique concept within monotheistic faiths.

Peace.

Any mainstream liberal Protestant denomination in the US will be largely free of those issues. My church accepts homosexuals, emphasizes love, and seems to dislike fundamentalists (which would include televangelists).

I refuse to go into any religion that doesn't accept gays and stuff
being bi (or something) and wanting to practice it lol

I am sorry that most of you have been hurt by people who claim to be religious.
I have also been treated like a nobody, yet I looked and found a church that is somewhat tolerant( they do not know I have AS.). Sometimes you must find your place in God's Kingdom.

Or carve it out and laugh from atop the pile of fallen enemies.

In other words don't be afraid to not ascribe to any religion and simply go your own way.

[edit] And that will have to be my last post for a day or two I'm tired and developing a killer headache.

And what medical condition is that? Homosexuality and Bisexuality?

Why?

There are many churches out there that don't have those issues.

Or you can go the route I did: Reject all denominations while remaining Christian. I simply use my own interpretations.

Among them are:

The bible clearly bans some illicit homosexual actions (such as homosexual rape). At no time does it clearly ban consenting homosexual relationships, and we as humans should certainly not condemn them.
Be nonjudgmental
Treat others the way you wish to be treated
Do not hate

You can ask them yourself, if you wish to. Here's a gay Baha'i community: http://gaybahai.yuku.com/

Peace.
