I have often compared it to apartheid. There are similarities with both petty and grand apartheid. The differences are that in the 'homelands' (grand apartheid) in south Africa the settler made good use of the corrupt puppet leader they put in place. The resources controlled from outside is the same. However the Israelis extend this by providing full security to the setters.

I was born in Johannesburg. My dad was British consulate there, and also had responsibility for black and protest politics. My birth was not registered for several months because we couldn't get to the capital. This was because there was some tension at the time between the SA government and UK and it was too hecktic. He was authorised to sign the birth certificates of British subjects just not his own son.

Many South African Jews were anti-apartheid and helped in opposing it. My of my dad friends was a journalist at the time, for an outspoken antiapartheid newspaper. He is in Israel now. He campaigns, and tries to improve relations between Israelis and Palestinians.

The Israelis allowed the settlers to go there in the fist place, encouraged them even. So They can’t just turn around and make out like they opposed it, and they are not providing security for them.

Just look at the Mayoress, can you get the hatred from her? Is it not obvious enough? Basically she is saying I want to live here f**k anyone else. Is this Mayoress collecting taxes for the Palistinian authority? I don’t think so.

There are no real owners of any land. There are only people with controlling possession, a contingent state. Ask yourself who lived there before the Palestinians? There the Turks. Way back when there were the Cro-Magnon (proof? cave artifacts) and before that Neandethals. The Jewish population is the latest (but not necessarily the last) controlling occupant.

You just proved your point there is no legitimacy in Israel over another.

Just as the Europeans murdered and conquered the American continents with superior power and took over the lands, so the Israelis have tried to do the same thing in Israel. It's just there are a hell of a lot more Arabs to kill so it will take a lot more time and effort. But the penis is mightier than the sword and the Arabs will, in the end, out reproduce the Jews and that will be that unless the Israelis find some way of sterilizing the Arabs.

So now you are arguing for the abolition of private property?? Or a moral relativism where all claims are equally valid and equally invalid? Really, I see no consistency in your thinking.

Private property is a cultural convention of a controlling society. There is no supernatural force to enforce it and, as has been demonstrated even in the USA where private property is held as something rather holy, when commercial interests control the legal situation, powerful financial forces through eminent domain can push aside private owners.

That is a distinct possibility. The Isrealis are very aware of the birth rate differential.

I've come across pictures depicting similarities between early Nazi confinement of Jews into Ghettos to the Palestinian situation. History always repeats itself.

As for Arab and Israeli growth rates, yes, it's true. Arabs have a much higher fertility rate. Forget the Arabs in the occupied territories, the 15% Arab citizens of Israel might become the majority in a few generations. The Arab-Israeli fertility ratio is 4:1.

So there is a heavy element of reality in the wish of the Arabs to screw the Israelis out of existence.

Maybe. Maybe not. Fertility rates are generally high in the middle east, South Asia, and South-East Asia.

The turks were invaders , they weren't the owners of that land. Proclaim it as an Ottoman state doesn't make it a Turkish land , Lebanon was an Ottoman state for for three centuries , yet Turkish language never became the common language , neither the Turkish race.

Go back further. There were Samarians, Syrians, Romans, and even further: There were Canaanites, Hivites, Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Gergashites not to say anything of the Philistines who invaded from over the sea. Go back even further and you have cro-magnons and neanderthals. So who are the true owners of the land?

The answer is the same. The owners are those that posses and can defend their claim against contrary force or claims.

Now who are the true owners of North America? Or South America. Who are the true owners of Mexico? Well it sure ain't the Aztecs anymore.

The notion of true ownership is bogus from left to right, up to down and front to back.

Same old tiresome argument...the Israelis are always held to a different standard than other nations.

There is a real nasty situation going on in Sri Lanka. Where is all the protest here over that?

I can't believe I was raised to support such a terrorist country. I wish I could take back every quarter I've given to Israeli charity.
