I just looked at the SSA website and I am happy I will be receiving the one-time payment in May!

:)

I was very pleasantly surprised.

WOW, a whole $250! That is about $20.83/month! That is enough to buy one dinner at a middle class establishment, or maybe 2 at a lower end place. With another $49, it is enough to buy the cheapest computer that the staples here sells! MAYBE you could ALMOST buy 2 20" TV sets from walmart. And almost ALL of that money(except maybe for the food) will go to ANOTHER country! Assuming that the AVERAGE person gets that much, this ALONE will cost $82.5BILLION! If you think $250 for SSI recipients will help the country more than the $82.5billion, or even as much, you're dreaming! In fact most probably WILL buy a dinner or a TV set. Some might save it, but THAT doesn't help the economy either.

To top it off, as this bill will also be raising taxes on the rich, who do you think is paying for that $250 you're getting? What...you think Obama's decent enough to actually, hehehe, give you back the money YOU YOURSELF EARNED?! !! ! Don' forget what he told Joe the Plumber in Toledo, Ohio!

My conscience is clear, as I didn't vote for him( and no, I didn't vote for McCain, either), but I ain't afraid of him, either.

And by the time I actually see myself becoming rich, he'll probably be already gone from office anyway, so I don't care.

I feel the same as you, and my voting record is the same. I am not rich, and may never be. I HATE conmen though!

No, you slightly misunderstand...I WILL be rich, don't get me wrong. I have the drive, I have the smarts, and I own my own business; I WILL be on top. But I don't think this schmuck is gonna last 4 years.

And if you hate conmen, welcome to the world of NTs!! !!

You know, people always say "these people don't represent you....they're disgusting thieves who wind up getting voted in, and screw over their voters". Oh no no no...they TOTALLY represent the people who vote for them! Isn't that what we deal with with NTs all the time?

I won't say that I "have the drive" since, though I had the drive to do the work, etc... it WASN'T to get rich. In the OTHER areas you spoke of, I was that way also. Again though, I agree with all you said. Too bad that politicians are ENCOURAGED to lie, etc....

They're NT, and so is their public, so what do you expect?

In fact, more than anything, it reminds me of a scene from the Dark Knight that I always use these days as an example:

that scene were Two Face seeks out Commissioner Gordon and his family, and holds his son at gunpoint.

He screams at Gordon "GO AHEAD!! !! !! TELL 'IM IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT! LIE TO HIM! TELL 'IM!! !! !!"

I really thought that scene made so much sense, cause isn't that what NTs love? They love it when stuff is sugarcoated for them, and when they're lied to..even when they KNOW they are...just so they feel better about anything; a false sense of security, if you will that they get off on.

I've even told my friends I know they'd prefer I sugarcoat things that way but "I won't do that", I flat-out told them. I've learned a better way of communication with my friends in that respect, thankfully.
