Genesis 1:26 wrote:
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

I believe this is a good question, at least I think so, given that I'm not that much familiar with the issue, why does it say "Let us" and "our image" and would this differ from the hebrew Bible?

I remember that has been used to support the idea of the Trinity, in which it seems to represent the three personifications, if you will, of God, but it doesn't explicitly say it though, if it isn't the case, then there is always the question of why is it that it was said in plural rather than singular.

The plural usage will support duity, fourity, fivity etc. just as well. In addition have you ever set (literally) to yourself or another "Let's see" as in "Let us see"? Hmmm? Hmmm?

The 'us' is in reference to the other gods of the Caananite pantheon; it was written before anybody had the idea of only worshipping Yahweh.

Therefore, in the usual fashion we all use, God made his original woman out of Adam's rib. Theological shorthand for ribosome, I assume.

Same usage occurs in 3:22 and in 2:4 God's name YHWH is used:

Quote:
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Equine Feces. The Sumerians were pre-scientific and superstitious. They believed in horoscopes.

I think richardbenson is trying to refer to the Bible as "a bunch of Babylonian myths" or some other likewise comment which would be to say that it is plagiarized from Sumerian myths. As for the ET thing, that is a main idea of the cult of Raeliens...

well they were doing something right. most of the old testament storys, such as noahs flood and such were ripped off from them by almost everybody including the jews. plus they had an exellent knowlege of our solar system thousands of years before the telescope was invented, i believe they knew about every planet if im not mistaken. i wonder who told them all about this? take a wild guess

God didn't make man in his image, man made god in his image.
