Eight Florida Teens charged for video taped attack on classmate (Yahoo News)


i find this absolutly disgusting

People will do anything for fame. Young Herostratus set fire to the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus in 356 B.C. The temple was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and Herostratus proudly claimed credit for his deed in order to immortalize his name. Today he would no doubt have filmed it and posted it on YouTube. In order to dissuade similar-minded fame-seekers, the Ephesean authorities not only executed Herostratus, but condemned him to a legacy of obscurity by forbidding mention of his name under the penalty of death. Still, his name survives to this day.

Pretty horrible and pretty familiar feeling from many years ago.

No YouTube back in the mid-60's of course.

But, I was beaten, slammed into lockers (I still have the scar behind my left eyebrow), pushed down stairs, had my books stolen and flushed in the toilet to ruin them, was threatened with knives and with forced haircuts.

And, the school officials (Benedictine monks) would tell me that I had to learn to deal with it.

My parents knew I was being bullied. They must have seen the results. I'm still not sure how to deal with that fact.

I hope they all go to prison for a very long time. and I hope they all get abused even worse than they did to that poor girl. no-one should have to go through crap like this.

I know I was subjected to similar BS. thank god youtube wasn't around back then.

Idiots, videotaping that get's them to jail. If they wear masks, they can trace the IP adress to their homes and from there they can study the digital data to match the device used to tape it.

And they want to "cure" us to become more like NT's?????

I can't believe so many people were cruel enough to participate in this...and incriminate themselves by filming it.

Stuff like this makes me lose faith in humanity.

This is horrible. This is why I hate teenagers.

No offense to sane teenagers (is there such a thing?) but I also treat teens like they are rabid packs of wolves walking down the street. too much bad experiences I guess when I was that age.

but the ones that roam around now seem even more scary to me than the ones that made my life a living hell not much more than 15 years ago.

No wonder I hate teenagers, so much.
