Hell Yeah! Rush Rocks and 2112 is one of the best albums of all time. Plus I also LOVE the Colbert Reprt and the Daily Show.

2) on the Colbert report (who knows?)

hey, as long as they're still around...;)
I was confused by the 35 years thing and I guess it is just an exaggeration. I personally laid eyes on them here in Ohio in 1985. That was 23 years ago according to the calendar that I use. But I caught the Colbert performance. Tom Sawyer was great but then Colbert came out during the big drum build up at the end and ruined it. Then they restarted the song and Colbert acted as if he was going to sleep on his desk because the song had no end.

Colbert was ignorant. Rush was really good. Although Geddy's voice is mostly gone. Alex can still rip and Neil, although looking kind of old and fat, knew the parts so well that he could still get around the kit like few people ever could. I felt sorry for Geddy when he reached for notes that he just couldn't hit and then finished them an octave down or shortened the note. I was glad that I caught it.

That's the whole point of his show. His whole schtick is to make fun of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The analogy to O'Reilly and Hannity is most clear when Colbert throws water at guests.
The only reason that I stopped was Rush.
I understand Colbert's lowbrow schtick and I find it distasteful.

Almost as though he is ignorant.

Keep the tips and the explanations coming.

I loved how he thought that "Tom Sawyer" was over and runs out on stage but they're still playing.

I caught that episode it rocked.
For some reason I got embarrassed when Colbert ran out on stage at the "end" of the song. Probably because it is the sort of thing that I would do and actually mean it instead of it being a silly gag.

I felt embarrassed too! I feel empathy most fully when people are embarrassed, lol.

I thought it was strange because I knew that Colbert was doing it on purpose as a joke. He knew the song wasn't done and I knew that he was doing it on purpose the second he ran on stage. Yet I still felt embarrassed. Kinda interesting.

Yeah, even fake embarrassment gets me. Why is that?
